I did the 1.8 Brake Upgrade

Would just like to say thank you to t3shadow. Good communication, had some problems, but in the end great seller, will buy from again.

The whole reason I did this brake upgrade was because my ebrake was sticking (due to a rusted caliper) and instead of paying $160 for a new caliper I payed $225 shipped for 1.8 calipers and brackets, 1.8 front slotted rotors (minimal wear) rear standard rotors (also minimum wear), Hawk HP brake pads, SS braided lines, and Wilwood 570 high temp brake fluid.

AND, I FINALLY GOT MY E-BRAKE BACK!!!!!

I went to m.net garage and looked a hakunas how-to, it helped but it was a pain because he didnt show how to do the back, only the front. Since I was doing a full car conversion, I had to modify the rear brake sheilds. Which some vise grips and a hammer later, it really didnt come out half bad.

The main problem on my car was (since I live in a multi-seasonal place I have some rust) my rotors coming off, which a nice sledge hammer helped with, and the front was a b**** to get the older brake lines off. Several strippings later, I got ahold of some vise grips and got them off.

All in all I am VERY impressed with my brake upgrade and when I buy new rotors, I am getting Hawk HP Plus brake pads and Slotted rotors all around. The difference is noticible and I would highly reccomend it to anyone.

Since I was doing this alone (except the brake bleeding), dinner and having trouble with rotors and line, it took about 5-6 hours. Might be long for some, but I reaped the benifits in the end.

Thanks again t3shadow for my brakes!:bigtu:

Now time to go to work. Yes I work very early

Did you buy the setup recently from t3? I had a good transaction with him awhile back on a WG and we both forgot about banjo fittings... just trying to get in touch with him again...

<-- Happy that he has had successful buying relationships with mt.net people :)

Yea bought them recently from him, about 2-2.5 weeks ago from this forum. We lost a little bit of communication, but he made it up with basically priority shipping it to me, which I was very happy about.

The said transaction was about a wastegate, so i doubt it was for the brakes =P
