Well maybe the miata differential is different than an 8.8 ford, 9" ford, or 12 bolt chevy.. but I've never used giant micrometer to measure that.
Here: NEW 7-8" Aerospace Metal Frame O.D. Micrometer - eBay (item 330275471343 end time Aug-25-09 11:57:42 PDT) 15$ Buy it now for a 7-8" Micrometer.

Congratulations, I got my novice ticket in 90, upgraded to technician a few months later. I got my general ticket when they dropped the 13 WPM code test. I have not been active in the last five years, but will become active again once I return to the real world.

Call Munzo 469-767-8351. He will swap a miata turbo'ed motor for $480. And that is including swaping all the turbo stuff over.
He has his own shop, and a Super SWEET 450HP 240SX. He does good work. He put gears in my brothers car. and swaped rearends and motors for me through the years. Tell him Todd with the Turbo Miata sent you. He will hook you up. Usually same day or next morning. |
ok I'll be honest, I didn't use the 7" mic either. I just put a new crush piece in and used a ghetto-fabbed go-nogo gauge for the preload made of thick sheet metal and ground to to the max and min limits. shit's worked fine for 000's of miles.

I didn't use the micrometer either. I tightened until the bearings felt overly tight and then backed it off a bit. It does make me kinda nervous though.

There is a guy on the S2000 forums that builds and sells some really nice diffs. He's offered to help me out with mine several times. I'm sure he would be willing to set yours up. He even builds some "unbreakable" S2000 diffs if you were looking to beef it up a little I would think he could do that as well. His name is Ben, number is 352-650-3763, and his name on S2ki.com is S2KPUDDYDAD, if you want to look for some feedback on some of his work.

Jesus. Did you forget where the internet was? He's had that shit up for so long I forgot about it. At least I got to laugh twice. Its not just the picture, the morse code in my signature says exactly what Brain typed out. |
