I want to change the color of my wheels...
I think gold would look insanely beautiful but i do like me a dark set of gunmetal also. Heres some photoshops i worked up using a photo of another VR like mine:
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...tygunmetal.jpg http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...locitygold.jpg heres bronze http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...etalbronze.jpg http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...citybronze.jpg |
Nobody is stopping you. Powdercoat or spraypaint. Do it.
|
the gold looks like the JDM mazdaspeed wheels.
black always looks good too. either way you go I give you a +1 takata green FTW lol jk.....but would be different and christmas-e |
I think it would look better with different wheels are tires. To me that looks like its on wagon wheels, with the large spoke wheels and skinny tires. I think it needs a set of 6UL's and 50 tires.
|
205/50 on the bronze 6ULs would be sweet (except lowered as well, lol 4x4):

6ULs look sooo much nicer... off the car...

i agree. i just dont think they look that good with the NB's. NA's can rock em hardcore though IMO. I think Im going to do the gold wheels
|
Nothing will look good until you loose the 4x4 ride height.

try it again darker, like bronze
|
it would look 10x better if you just get some more tire on that thing/lower it a tad more.
Once you do that, then look at the color ;p |
The black wheels are the hotness on that car. Not digging the new tails though.
|
Yep, black. And I agree, not feeling the tails either. Maybe is they were the same color as the car...
|
updated the first post
|
all 3 look good....could you do like a lime green almost, just slighty darker? for shits and giggles?
|
I'm liking the bronze....but I am biased. He He....
Looks classy. Black would also be choice color, and help with the size of those rims. Darker always seems to look smaller (but you know this) ;) |
i tried a slightly lighter bronze which i think looks loads better
|
ok i cant p-shop a drop worth a damn but you get the idea:

Being a red NB, especially with those tail lights, I vote for black/gunmetal.
The bronze could work too for sure. But I would skip the lighter goldish color. Did you get a deal on those lights or did you pay full price? Just curious. |
Jared, give me until this afternoon to take a pic of my car. I had mine painted a color close to Champagne. It will give you a visual reference.

I still say 16's are the perfect size for NA's and NB's. I'm near tempted to get the RPF1 in 16x8 instead of 6ULs for my next wheel.

/\ Thank you sir! ;)

i seriously think the bronze are it. Especially after seeing this:

Only if you paint the tail light housings red. ^

To me, on red cars, anything off the gray scale looks weird. Bronze looks good on other colors, but for some reason on red, it throws it off. A good set of nickel or silver 6UL's, or silver any other wheel with 205/50's would be hard to beat in my opinion. Never did like those wheels.
:2cents: |
Not digging gold or bronze on your MSM.
Black or gunmetal could be nice. |
Whats in that bag? is it one of those new waffle bacon sausage egg cheese biscuit pancake sandwiches?
|
nope. a fench cruller and a jelly donut
|
strip them and polish them....
|
not a bad idea. but im not polishing. if i could find someone to do it, then cool

I read a post on a ricer forum once that got the guy great results. They make wheel-specific rattlecan spraybombs, so get those. Sand the wheels with 100 grit or 150 grit, then spray some primer on there. Follow with a couple coats of the wheel coat, then spraybomb some clearcoat on there. The best idea I saw on there was the use of index cards between the rim and tire so the tires didn't have to be removed.

please oh please show me where there are 16x8 RPF1s. I would kill for a set, but enkei only lists a 16x7 .
Mazda Performance Parts: ENKEI SPECIAL #8...Four ENKEI RP-F1 16x8-38mm with FOUR TOYO 245/35/16 T1Rs...save now! http://www.good-win-racing.com/miata...s/items/T1.jpg I stick by 16's on the NA. Looks just a bit oversized goodness. p.s. my next wheel ^^^^^^^ p.p.s. total terrible usage of 1000 POSTS |
SOLD!!! just checked the enkei site and it is now updated with 16x8 38 offset. I wish they woud have offered those when I bought my 15s. And I agree 16X8 is the perfect size for an NA. there are no wheels sexier than danscreations 16" CCWs.
