I want to change the color of my wheels...

I think gold would look insanely beautiful but i do like me a dark set of gunmetal also. Heres some photoshops i worked up using a photo of another VR like mine:

Nobody is stopping you. Powdercoat or spraypaint. Do it.

disturbedfan121 03-23-2009 01:37 AM

the gold looks like the JDM mazdaspeed wheels.

black always looks good too.

either way you go I give you a +1

takata green FTW lol jk.....but would be different and christmas-e

NA6C-Guy 03-23-2009 01:41 AM

I think it would look better with different wheels are tires. To me that looks like its on wagon wheels, with the large spoke wheels and skinny tires. I think it needs a set of 6UL's and 50 tires.

DontPassTheFence 03-23-2009 02:55 AM

205/50 on the bronze 6ULs would be sweet (except lowered as well, lol 4x4):

ThePass 03-23-2009 03:00 AM

6ULs look sooo much nicer... off the car...

They definitely look better on some cars and worse on others.

leatherface24 03-23-2009 09:24 AM

i agree. i just dont think they look that good with the NB's. NA's can rock em hardcore though IMO. I think Im going to do the gold wheels

levnubhin 03-23-2009 09:33 AM

Nothing will look good until you loose the 4x4 ride height.

try it again darker, like bronze

gompers 03-23-2009 10:03 AM

it would look 10x better if you just get some more tire on that thing/lower it a tad more.

Once you do that, then look at the color ;p

SmartDrug 03-23-2009 10:28 AM

The black wheels are the hotness on that car. Not digging the new tails though.

Buddy Bodean 03-23-2009 10:30 AM

Yep, black. And I agree, not feeling the tails either. Maybe is they were the same color as the car...

leatherface24 03-23-2009 10:37 AM

updated the first post

disturbedfan121 03-23-2009 10:42 AM

all 3 look good....could you do like a lime green almost, just slighty darker? for shits and giggles?

Machismo 03-23-2009 10:45 AM

I'm liking the bronze....but I am biased. He He....
Looks classy.
Black would also be choice color, and help with the size of those rims.
Darker always seems to look smaller (but you know this) ;)

leatherface24 03-23-2009 10:58 AM

i tried a slightly lighter bronze which i think looks loads better

leatherface24 03-23-2009 11:14 AM

ok i cant p-shop a drop worth a damn but you get the idea:

Vashthestampede 03-23-2009 11:16 AM

Being a red NB, especially with those tail lights, I vote for black/gunmetal.

The bronze could work too for sure. But I would skip the lighter goldish color.

Did you get a deal on those lights or did you pay full price? Just curious.

Rafa 03-23-2009 11:19 AM

Jared, give me until this afternoon to take a pic of my car. I had mine painted a color close to Champagne. It will give you a visual reference.

naarleven 03-23-2009 01:33 PM

I still say 16's are the perfect size for NA's and NB's. I'm near tempted to get the RPF1 in 16x8 instead of 6ULs for my next wheel.

levnubhin 03-23-2009 01:47 PM

To me, on red cars, anything off the gray scale looks weird. Bronze looks good on other colors, but for some reason on red, it throws it off. A good set of nickel or silver 6UL's, or silver any other wheel with 205/50's would be hard to beat in my opinion. Never did like those wheels.
:2cents:

gospeed81 03-23-2009 03:35 PM

Not digging gold or bronze on your MSM.

Black or gunmetal could be nice.

dpexp 03-23-2009 03:59 PM

Whats in that bag? is it one of those new waffle bacon sausage egg cheese biscuit pancake sandwiches?

leatherface24 03-23-2009 04:01 PM

nope. a fench cruller and a jelly donut

Doppelgänger 03-23-2009 04:21 PM

strip them and polish them....

leatherface24 03-23-2009 04:27 PM

not a bad idea. but im not polishing. if i could find someone to do it, then cool

please oh please show me where there are 16x8 RPF1s. I would kill for a set, but enkei only lists a 16x7 .

StankCheeze 03-24-2009 02:11 AM

I read a post on a ricer forum once that got the guy great results. They make wheel-specific rattlecan spraybombs, so get those. Sand the wheels with 100 grit or 150 grit, then spray some primer on there. Follow with a couple coats of the wheel coat, then spraybomb some clearcoat on there. The best idea I saw on there was the use of index cards between the rim and tire so the tires didn't have to be removed.

I stick by 16's on the NA. Looks just a bit oversized goodness.

p.s. my next wheel ^^^^^^^

p.p.s. total terrible usage of 1000 POSTS

dynokiller90 03-24-2009 08:34 PM

SOLD!!! just checked the enkei site and it is now updated with 16x8 38 offset. I wish they woud have offered those when I bought my 15s. And I agree 16X8 is the perfect size for an NA. there are no wheels sexier than danscreations 16" CCWs.
