I want to seafoam my car, how to?
 

Can someone explain where i would put the sea foam in my car? ive never done it to a car and this beast has almost 140k so i think it would be good for it.

read the label.

I just did this lastnight. Take a vacuum hose from the intake manifold (doesnt matter which) start the car, let it get warmed up then while the car is running, start sucking up the seafoam through that hose little by little so the car doesnt stall. It might foul the spark plugs though fyi. After its sucked up everything, turn the car off and let it sit for an hour. Start the car up after and watch the smoke show. Youll probably have to floor the car when you start it.

you suck 1/3 of the can, and you let it sit for 5 minutes. then it will smoke for about 10 minutes while you hold the throttle at 3K

I thought too much seafoam can lock the engine...that is why 1/3 is suggested on the can?

So you guys think it's got some merit? I automatically filed it under "snake oil", but I've got a Tacoma with 220k miles that I'm sure needs some help (and you can be damned sure I'm not throwing any legit money at that truck). Worthwhile? How pissed will my neighbors be when the cloud of smoke settles in their back yard?

of course it's not snake oil. I use seafoam all the time. works great for cleaning out lifters.

Seafoam shouldn't cause hydrolock unless you fill your cylinders to the brim and try and start it. It's combustible.

you can flood a motor with gasoline, it's combustable.

I heard it could damage the cat. Myth or reality?

Neighbor called the cops on me first time I did it. Lots of smoke, and I used half a can. Stupid cow had her back door open, and it filled her house with stinky smoke.

I've always done 1/3 can let it sit long enought for me to change my oil cause I used it in the crankcase to clean the engine out then start it up and let it idle for 10min. After the 10min take it up the road running WOT and burn it all out till it's done smoking

I have used this stuff on all my cars. Works great. Made my 200k+ mile 91 feel like it just had an engine upgrade for the first 1000 miles after I did it. I always plan to get the car moving asap after letting it sit for 5-15 min. I have gotten way to many eat shit looks from neigbors for engulfing their houses in a thick white cloud. You will look like an idiot with a serious water leak problem going down the road but at least the chance of someone calling the law on you will be greatly reduced. There is no instructions on the can that say you cannot drive the car after letting it sit, just don't give it hell till he smoke stops.
As far as the hydrolock, suck it in very slowly through a small vacuum hose. I use the cruise line since it connects right behind the TB and should provide an even distribution to all 4 cylinders. You would have to pour the whole can in there real fast to lock it up. If you start feeding it too fast through the vacuume hose it will stall out before you have to worry about hydrolock. So just make sure you don't use a huge vacume line like the brake booster line and you will be fine.

there's a video posted on m.net of someone using a fucking brick to hold the motor at 2K while he uses seafoam. I commented on how dumb it was yet no one thought it was a bad idea for the motor's safety or the person standing in front of the car.
