Here we go! Up and running!

Banks' little paranoid post made me realize that I did not try to start using a screwdriver. Ran downstairs while the wife was getting ready and gave it a shot, and it worked!

Pretty sure I am end the end of this craziness. It seems to be a combination of two problems both showing thier face at once:
-faulty ignition switch
-failing battery

I think the reason why it did not start last night, is because I did not have the ignition switch screwed into place and it was able to rotate just enough inside of the tumbler to not allow the start. I will screw it in place and see how it works.

If you find that that has not solved your problem. My car does this occasionally and its easily fixed by wiggling the negative on the batter. So like someone said before, check your grounds.

so when you turned that little keyhole with a screwdriver it started?

Yes. It would be a little hard to steer when the wheel locks the first time you turn it.

I used my key to disable the steering wheel from locking. To remove the key tumbler the proper way, it involves taking off the steering wheel. Pretty sure theives have a much quicker way.

Install a hidden kill switch, fears alleviated.
