you're going to put your SR motor into the new miata...sell it and do the LS1 swap instead!

sell it while they are still worth something. Ive gone from a swapped SR in a 240 to my boosted miata... you can build the miata motor for to 350 for just as cheap.

OR ... sell it and get an LS1 lol.

^ it is me and a friend did the ls1/t56 swap into a 89 240sx with full bolt ons heads cam intake etc... stripped with about 400whp only word for it was ignorant . car loved sideways. but sold it due to someone offering more than it was worth.

plan on doing it again in a miata but with an l33. in all honesty if your swapping for it to be what you want and be different then go for it.

if your trying to make a drift car the ls1 has perfect hp/tq curves for it stock. and no worrying about turbos its na. and not so hard to do and lighter.

just my IMHO but to each their own but doesnt and sr weigh like 700lbs fully dressed?

Welcome back! Either way sr20 or ls1 would be awesome. Make sure to document the build.

pshew, quite the discussion...

I know sr's though. The money to do a ls swap would far excede any money i would get out of the sale of any sr crap.

I've been in/competed/wrecked against LS 240's and it is quite rediclious the power they have just from say 1k rpms.

It will still be sr. Its just better.

it's got an aluminum block, there's no way it's even close to 700, maybe half

Yah, SR is an aluminum frame motor... not heavy.

That being said... I'd also choose other motors with more bang for the buck.

I like the LS1, But if you already have everything to swap the SR in. That is what i would do..Free is always considerable choice.

And I would imagine it would be much simpler.
