I'm content. (For now)

My friend and I were leaving Panda Express at the same time as a white NSX lowered on Volk TE37's. We ended up taking the same on-ramp, me behind it. In the back of my mind I remembered that with my 200 lb friend in the passenger seat I can feel a difference in accelleration, but I'll admit I was still hoping the NSX driver would give er' a go. Didn't seem like it was going to happen as he just cruised up the on ramp. As I shifted to 3rd, he punched it so I followed suit and I hung onto his bumper all the way through 3rd until he gave up trying to lose me. I pulled up next to him to give him a thumbs up and he wouldn't look over then promptly took the next exit.
I've gotten rather used to the power level my car is at, and would like more, but this reminded me how far my miata has come from it's humble beginnings. 1990 miatas are rated at 9 seconds 0-60, and now I can hang onto an NSX in a straight line...
Pretty damn cool.

I'm sooo looking forward to getting my EBC hooked up. I'm bored with 7PSI. I promised myself that I would get all of the little niggling details fixed and my new IC installed before tuning up the boost.

:giggle:I've had the car together for a month or so and I'm already upgrading parts that I initally bought for the project (IC) that I figured would be fine.

Already eyeing the spare 99 motor in the shop for a forged build.

O' my, I feel bad for you....you need more, say 10 psi more. The fun factor goes up exponentially with boost. I took out my large WG spring and left in the smaller one, (running about 6 psi) the other day to see what it was like....:td::td:, atleast coming from where my car was. Then I tried running just the larger spring (~12 psi) and it would have been acceptable had I not driven the car at 18...needless to say I went back to the way the previous owner had it set up, 18 pounds....only problem is my cheeks start to hurt after a while from smiling so much!

I pulled an Exige not too long ago. Funny how they won't even look at you afterwards :)

That's too bad. The couple of times I've been challenged in FL by an old fart in a Porsche / Vette / etc., they've always shouted over something to the effect of "what kind of engine do you have in that thing?" afterwards, to which I always reply "1.6 liter." I love seeing the expression on their face at that point.

Usually when you beat people in BMWs you get a middle finger or they refuse to even acknowledge you. The times I've played with Porsches, the owners are always cool. People in riced out Hondas/DSMs are generally the people that do a fly by and take the next exit to avoid conversation.

Usually afterward we'll get stuck at the next light and the driver seems to want a mod list. I need to get better at just saying "1.6 liter".

Cspence - is your motor built? Your sig doesn't say so... but 18 psi??

Not built (Just arp head studs and a flyin miata high boost head gasket I believe)...I live on the edge! :giggle:

Whats the worst that can happen? If it goes boom, a couple hundred bucks later I could have a new one....

But really, since I don't track the car and it doesn't see 18 psi but for short bursts, I don't see it to be too much of an issue. Plus its damn fun!
