I'm an F'ing retard. Left TEN-GRND jumper in.

Oooook, went out to the car today to bump the timing up from 5* to 8* since I have an intercooler now. Turbo has been installed for 3-4 weeks now, and I've been messing with getting rid of all the bugs. Been all over the board from 2.5 psi to a spike to 8 psi once. I get out there today and realize my jumper is still in from setting the timing right before I started the car for the first time with the turbo installed a month ago. I feel like such a tool right now.
So, before touching anything else, now I need to ask: What effects would running the car in diagnostic mode for 4 weeks with a turbo have??? Could that have caused anything weird? Need to know asap before I go alter the timing today.
Thanks and please be nice :bang:

Can't say I've ever done that, so I do not know what would happen. Just keep an eye on the car.

But hey, we all do dumb things occasionally. Let's just say my nick name is "oops". And, in case you are curious, if you blow a vacuum line off - it feels like you just blew your motor. :)

Well bacially you ran it in limp mode..

All you did was run the vehicle at a fixed 10* or 8* of ignition timing (I can't remember which). Basically the computer was not advancing the timing past the 8 or 10 fixed.

So it must feel faster now!! Enjoy!

it didnt make your check engine light blink? I know when i still had the stock ecu, i left that jumper connected and my check engine light was flashing. but yeah, i wouldnt worry about it, the ecu just wouldnt advance the timing past your set minimum.

Damn...another idiot here. I just realized that I didn't jumper TEN and GND when I did my timing belt a few weeks ago.

Don't feel bad, I checked the timing on my car, and the previous owner had it set to 26*. Actually, it was his mechanic, because he didn't do his own work.

It only blinks if the ECU has a stored check engine light code.

yea dont feel bad, back when i had my old 5.0 i did that the day before i left on a ~100 mile trip. Had no balls at all but oddly enough got like 5mpg better mileage.
