I'm a freaking douche pickle.

So, I have a retarded story to tell you. I know you are going to make fun of me, but its cool. I figured i would do a new timing belt and water pump before my turbo. (i have unfortunately done the exhintake cam mod.) Anyways, I put everything back together, with my wife bitching at me and calling me every 10 minutes. I thought it was correct and i cranked up and nothing happened. Shit, i forgot the coils, so i hook up those and fire it up again and i heard the loud ass pop. I thought i had the timing wrong, because thats what happened when i had it wrong last time. Accept this was louder. So i get super pissed, and tear everything back apart. look at the set up. Everything looks fine, my intake cam is in the correct hole as well as my exhaust cam. Shit i think, that could have just been extra fuel, where i didn't have spark when i first crank it. Now i am putting it back together, and my car is still on base where i work on it. I didn't get a chance to finish it. Is there anything else that could have possibly cause that? Or was it probably just the extra fuel, and i flipped out over nothing.

I bet your plugs are wet with fuel.

Cyl 1 was dry, but i was so pissed i didn't check the others. I guess ill find out tomorrow morning whether it starts or not.

First, stregnthen that pimp hand. I can get 30 hours a week in the shop now with little commentary. That is your goal, work your way up slowly.

I think you will start fine tomorrow. Just fuel from cranking without spark.

"douche-pickle"... I hope you don't mind if I borrow that one.

LOL shit pickle. Anyways, i had to put in new rear alignment bolts, that went ok, but i saw where one of my bushings for my sway bar endlink popped out. So i grabbed a gian ass washer and fixed it, but i loosened up my sway bar. When i tightened it back down, the studs from the subframe snapped..... 2 of them. I wasn't even using an impact or anything. Just a standard 3/8 drive ratchet. What should i do about that one, it is being held in with a top left and a bottom right bolt. I was gonna drill it out and put huge ass wheel lugs in there. Unless there is a better fix.

Oh yeah, the car started fine.... lesson learned, don't doubt your own work when youv'e done it a hundred times.

Yeah, torque on those is something like 10-12 ft/lbs or something crazy low.

chicksdigmiatas 02-28-2010 10:52 PM

I think i am just gonna lose the rear bar, any objections?

Bond 02-28-2010 10:56 PM

Objection. Don't take it off.

chicksdigmiatas 02-28-2010 11:07 PM

Half the people say to and half don't. Maybe i should make a poll, how should i fix it? New studs?

Put on the big RB front bar, take off the rear, and call it soup. However, I highly recommend at least looking at the Torque Specs link on the m.net garage before you turn a wrench on the car. Even better is getting the proper year FSM.

I allready have the big sway up front, and a solid in the back, its really ass happy into corners.

That's why I recommend taking the rear off.

Damn...I was wondering the same thing the other day.

I wish someone would do a write-up and collect useful information like this somewhere it could easily be found by inquisitive minds later.

Benmazda25 03-01-2010 01:55 PM

What should I do???
