Improving the MAF
 

What is the purpose of the screen inside the MAF on my '04?

I know the stock computer requires the MAF or else I'll get a CEL, even though my Megasquirt doesn't use it. If I keep the MAF installed but remove the internal screen to improve airflow, will that cause any problem(s) satisfying the stock computer or otherwise?

nevermind.

The screen "laminates" the airflow for a better reading, I doubt it does much in terms of flow.
