Inexpensive log manifold interest?
How many people would be interested in a budget cheap-o log manifold like the JGS but for $330 (mild)? Fully welded, not a "kit".

Dunno yet. If JGS sells it like that, it should fit. Perhaps a bad assumption.
I have my setup off my car often enough nowadays, I could mock it up quick. I wouldn't be supplying a downpipe (gonna concentrate on the BEGI/FM manifold and DP for those wanting a downpipe solution too), so location would be up to the customer. I don't know.
It's only been a short while since I posted this! But then again, not sure if i want to deal with the stereotypical ebay buyer. Charging more for a nicer manifold tends to weed out the complainers and internet knowitalls. 
One of the good things about doing this as a hobby and not having to rely on it for income. I can just say no whenever I don't feel like making it.

I'm guessing that the forward-ish location of the flange on the JGS manifold is intended to maximize the available space for running a downpipe with a minimum of tight-radius bend.
I wonder, however, whether it is better to have it forward and higher up (as per JGS) or centered but lower (Tim, Bell, FM, etc) in terms of the best downpipe run, keeping in mind that most folks have a power steering pump that precludes the turbo from being both far forward and down low?
Can't possibly be any worse than the Greddy manifold though. As far back as possible, and straight up.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. The JGS manifold is just like that one, where the flange is angled upwards in order to clear the P/S. Same as the $140 cast-iron TacoTaco part for the 1.6:
If that pump weren't there, you could put the turbo just as far forward, and also angle it down, to make the DP pretty much a straight line.
Not that I'd buy a log manifold, mind you, regardless of the price. It could be free, and it'd still not go on my engine.

Reason I did mine as per JGS was because of the compressor housing. The log isn't as small as it looks - it sticks out from the head a fair bit and putting the turbine further back and down would not allow clearance on my china 2876. I have no PS/AC that got in the way.
I am very happy with the shape of my DP having it that far forward though. Can post pics later if there is desire. Currently not in car due to spun bearing.
