Injector insulators
Is there a difference between the 99+ insulators and the earlier ones? I can get a kit from oreilly that fits rx7 injectors. The dealer doesn't have the 99 insulators.

Also I'm idling around 2200rpm all my vacuum Ports are accounted for. I did have 1 cracked insulator. Anyone else experience this kind of idle from a broken insulator? Idle is pretty smooth too.

the heck is an insulator? o-ring?

It's the part that goes between the injector and the head.
Mazda P/N JE06-13-257 Beck/ Arnley P/N 158-0431 there is actually a different one for 99+ part# 8574-13-257 I'm curious if there is actually any real difference between mentioned 3 products. I'm idling at 35ish kpa @ 2200 rpm and I'd like to get that down. Upon inspection to look for vacuum leaks found I have a cracked one. Obviously I need to replace those insulators. I'm also trying to track down my vacuum leak. Possible leaks I suppose are brake booster, injector insulator, intake plenum gasket, intake gasket. |
Those things should be the same, since they all interchange between the years.

Hrmmm.... i need to look around for a cheap source for these. I'd like to buy like.... 40.

i replaced them and apparently they weren't really leaking. I found the leak coming off the brake booster hose going from the manifold to the hard line. I just bought the $5 injector o-ring kit from O'Reilly. They give you a top seal and then those rubber grommets and an insulator. I don't see any reason why you couldn't use the rubber grommet spacer that's on the top side as a space/insulator on the bottom. they are the same interior diameter and same height. Oh well... they needed to be replaced anyway.
