Has anyone ever tried redoing the upholstery on NA seats? I know some seats are much harder to "get right" than others, especially with buckets that have decent bolsters. Just wondering if someone out there has experience with these?

I might be selling my NA tan seats w/ speakers. I paid $550 last summer and am thinking about an autox/track seat. I ended up w/ high quality vinyl that feels a lot better than the crappy leather (think plush, cushy pleather). The shop did a fantastic job of foamectomy, matching color w/ the headrests, and installation.

Whatever, we have had threads devoted to cats.

I have tried almost everything except interior. When I was growing up my friends dad used to do it on the side. I should of stuck around instead of chasing the local girls. LOL

I would love to learn how. It doesn't look that hard, but I'm sure there are some tricks.

But there are enough used seats out there now to not have to be out the expense.

For real! Since when was this a go fast only forum? This forum has the best variety of topics I have ever seen. From serious discussions to epic hilarity. Its not like its a question like "how do I change my spark plugs".

I'm sure there's guys out there that have re-done the seats. I remember seeing someone do some subtle changes with black suede. Like across the center strip in the NA dash, onto the door panels. I'll probably do it one day and see if I like it in my own car.

Redo as in custom covers, or just putting on already made covers like Katzkin's? I installed black gathered leather Katzkin's with red stitching in my NA. Wasn't too bad, just time consuming. I went the zip tie method, instead of dealing with hog rings. I probably put 4-5 hours per seat, thats including separating the upper and lower half, stripping old covers off, and putting on the new ones. By the time I was done with both seats, it was a full days work. Still not a bad job for a Sunday or something. The seats started off a little loose, but with time they tightened themselves up. I guess shrinkage from UV.
