Intermittent idle/AF problem
 

Started yesterday.

When I start my car for the first time in the day, everything is fine. It drives normally in and out of boost for a few miles, then it will start running and idling super rich. It will surge and bog while idling, stalling at times when it bogs. I could swear I hear a click before my WBO2 jumps to rich when this happens.

Today, my car started and drove normally on the way to the store. I was there for less than an hour and when I started the car, it was idling and running rich again.

I let it sit for an extended period of time, and the problem went away, again. Drove it for awhile, rinse, repeat.

Checked my vacuum connections while this was happening, didn't find any eaks.

Any ideas?

the click is the fuel pump relay cutting out...try jumping f/p and gnd in the diagnostic box.

While the car is idling rich I assume.

What will that narrow the problem down to?

if it doesnt stall out it could be fault of the afm.
