Fidgitk 12-05-2008 06:40 PM

Cryo Treated?

18psi 12-05-2008 07:08 PM

/\ that was my next question

Fireindc 12-05-2008 07:10 PM

More info please.

patsmx5 12-05-2008 07:24 PM

Peened.

Atlanta93LE 12-05-2008 07:45 PM

Very nice. When is it going in?

RotorNutFD3S 12-05-2008 08:09 PM

No, not peened. Cryo and REM treated. Ben is not telling the whole story... :)

Ben 12-05-2008 08:09 PM

Cryo and REM Isotropic Superfinish treated. My pictures don't really do them justice. In life, they look more like gear shaped mirrors.

They're not really mine; they are going into RotorNut's car. I had them treated for him.

RotorNutFD3S 12-05-2008 08:12 PM

What sucks is I really wanted to see them in person before they got installed. If there not going in yet, please bring them to C&O on Sunday!

miatamania 12-05-2008 08:19 PM

Sick.

patsmx5 12-05-2008 08:22 PM

Nice. Never heard of REM'd. Just googled it. So I'm guessing they do the REM thing first, then cryo it. So you get near-perfect surface finish and then cryo treating makes the part stronger. Sounds better than peening alone.

Ben 12-05-2008 08:38 PM

no, cryo first. then rem.

curly 12-05-2008 09:58 PM

good job with the internet research though pat...

TurboTim 12-08-2008 06:49 PM

We (Jesel) use REM on our parts. That process is A M A Z I N G.

I am going to REM a stainless Absurdflow...it probably won't do much though cause the weld ells have a shitty finish to begin with.
