JB wield a hairline crack on my radiator?

If you have taken a look at my WI thread, I discovered I also had a coolant leak. I found where its happening right at the top of the radiator there is a hairline crack. Think jb wield will do the trick? (at least for a while.?)

It should hold...for a while at least.

I would not use JB Weld. I would try a plastics epoxy or plastic weld.

The difference is the JB Weld will only fill the gap, but it will have different expansion properties than the plastic tank does. Special plastic welds or plastic epoxies will melt the plastic its bonding to, fusing the crack together again.

I would use the plastic epoxy and take it a step further by also epoxying a "band aid" over the crack to prevent pressure from ever acting upon the weakened repair area. Probably over kill, but it could be the difference between a temporary fix and a permanent repair.

yeah plasticy epoxy stuff would be better than JB weld for sure.

Yeah, the tanks are plastic.
I ran through the products you linked to, but they all apeared to be 1 part epoxies. The good shit is 2 part. Available at a decent local hardware store.

It's a bandaid. It will eventually crack beyond the JB Weld... I know. :D
