Kosei K1 15x8 +32 at tire rack

Just in case someone was interested. I just ordered a set. Lugs were included for free. Talked to Nate @ x688. He states that there are 3~4 sets left in silver only.

Man I like those. I really want to scrap the 17's and get some lighter 15x8's

TurboTim 01-02-2007 02:57 PM

my k1 16x8s are +32. I think these wheels look incredible with the deeper dish.

Did you have to roll your fenders?

Shouldn't even with 16x8's depending on the tire overall diameter should be the same as teh 15x8's. I had already rolled mine from previous wheel/tire setup but you can just adjust your camber some to clear if need be. No biggy! I like the 15's but wish they would have had the 16's still (could have ran the 245/35/16 T1R).

How do these compare to the 15 x 8 that Emilio is selling??

Al Hounos 01-02-2007 03:54 PM

Damn, these and the 6ULs are so tempting. I want to get rid of my 14x6 40 offset bad.

my sister put some 15" enkei rpf1 on her msm and it really livened up the car. I was surprised.

About the same! The K1's are a little heavier at 14lbs each where Emilio's are 12.8lbs. Offset on the K1 +32; Emilio's +40 or +20. So really depends on what style wheel you like. Emilio's wheels have a few more finishes and polished lips.

turbopezz 01-02-2007 06:33 PM

whos selling those black lug nuts.?

TheBandit 01-02-2007 07:05 PM

Looks good. That car is really low! Gotta love the fatty wheels/tires.

I have a set of gorrilla lugnuts from JC Whitney that look similar to that :)

what's the advantage of running 225s on 7" vs. 8"

Other than the fact 225's suggested rim width would be 7.5 - (8.0) - 8.5 I found this on yokahama's website "A wider wheel will improve handling at the expense of ride quality, while a narrower wheel will improve ride quality at the expense of handling. ". I'll ask my boss tomarrow I remember him saying something about it the other day..wanna say it was something to do with the tire wanting to actually fold. I dunno though! I did the opposite though! I knew I wanted 15x8 with mid to low offset for the stance and new the 225's would fit.

Braineack 01-02-2007 11:04 PM

From what I just searched they'll fit on 7 - 8.5" I guess stiffen the sidewall is an advantage...all in all they look good.

What's your camber like?

TurboTim 01-03-2007 10:16 AM

Not sure, but I would guess it would not be more than -2 deg in the front, -2.5 in the rear with the old suspension (12" fender lip to wheel center all around). With my new Tein's I'm up to around 13.5" all around and less camber.

EDIT: MY WHEELS ARE 16X7.5 +32, NOT 16X8, sorry. Tires are 205/45/16 T1R's.

fmowry 01-04-2007 07:45 AM

What tires are those in the pic? Size? 225-45-15?

Thanks,
Frank

Actually, I weighed them last night on my postal scale and they weigh in at 15lbs 2.8oz. My 17x7.5 Volk CE28Ns weigh less...too funny.

Like you said previously, the wheels started off as blanks and they had a machine shop bore the 4x100 pattern in them. One was "oval" in shape and in no way is it going to balance. I have to get that one replaced before I go to my first track day.

Savington 01-14-2007 01:00 AM

I love the K1s. If the 6UL hadn't come up, I would probably be jumping on this. I wish they weren't so heavy in the 15x8 size, though, and the offset isn't optimal for running BIG rubber.

Oscar 01-14-2007 11:40 AM

what tire and rim size are in the pic exactly? planning to get them aswell, getting rid of the 14" stock rims...

Powdrkeg7 01-17-2007 07:44 PM

sweet

bripab007 01-17-2007 07:48 PM

Emilio's 6UL's in +40 offset are pretty much ideal for running the most rubber without contact to the car...funny, that was his whole idea behind their design and production ;)

danscreations 01-17-2007 09:20 PM

Sorry guys, totally forgot about this thread and to come answer questions. Running lanny's alignment which camber is not very aggressive at all. Was going to change it but I like the tight tolerance bettween the tire and fender. Looks clean.

I guess! Brian and the guys at goodwin fitted 16x8 enkei rpf1's with 245/35/16 toyo t1r's with out rolling the fenders.

Savington 01-17-2007 11:09 PM

Emilio's got 245/40s on his car, at more than 9" of treadwidth. I don't think the Toyo street tires are 9+" wide.

Was that on the NB, though?

Hard4Hardtops 01-18-2007 05:00 AM

949racing.com has a 15x8 wheel as well. About $139 each and I think they weigh less.

Was unaware of this last time I talked to him he was running 225/45/15's like me! What type of tire and what diameter? I'd say there close but if he's running Hankook RS2's or something more aggressive than a T1R's in design I'm sure the foot print is.

Nope...NA, looks good too! Here found it: http://www.good-win-racing.com/mazda...er=asc&start=0 (bottom of page and begining of page 2)
