Link EMS ?
I am and have been an rotary guy for a long time, but I am currently working on a project miata my friends and I built a long time ago. It's a 1.8 with pretty much everything around the engine (engine is stock). Using a 60-1 turbo, link ems, etc.
My question relates to the Link since I'm rotary, most of my experience is w/ Haltech and Microtech, but the Link seems very simple - with one draw back, you can't swap maps? Is there a way to swap maps with anybody on the Link? If not, can somebody point me in the right direction for finding a screenshot of a Link using 550 T2 Rx7 injectors so I can see the cells for rows 4-6 for fuel and ignition timing? Any other pointers w/ the Link would be great. It runs, but is loading up on fuel really bad and coarse tuning doesn't seem to be consistent. One run, it adds a ton of fuel, the next, takes a ton away - its hooked up using the AEM wideband... Thanks in advance... |
Any good resources for the Link EMS would be great too.... I'll keep looking, but wanted to see if any miata gurus knew of a good place to start...

follow the link in my sig for Palm based app the will dramatically expand the interface and user capabilities - Plink. You just need a cheap m500, a serial link, a port to connect the palm cable and a little bit of hacking on the serial link...
That said- are you using the Flyin' Miata chip/software, or the OE Link Electro software? If it's the FM software, they've got a tuning manual for download on their site and there's lots of user threads at miata.net. Add your locale and car info. Welcome. -rob |
The system was purchased from FM years ago - so I'm sure its their software. I didnt find much on their site of use, but I'll double check to be sure.

If it's an FM based Link, then you can call them or email. They can tell you what version of software it is and answer other questions... they're sponsors here, so they've got their own forum section too.

Oh - and it does have a 255 walbro with the stock FPR, which I think is the root of some trouble to begin with.
I'll call FM... |

Custom Exhaust I used to run a 60 Trim on my link and the 10% start worked like a charm in the boosted rows. Sorry.. I don't have my LINK or any old maps. I change ECUs like underwear. |
There was also software a company made so you could hook it up to the link. I forget what it was since I never had it while I had a link

IMO there are so many variables between turbo setups that swapping maps might hurt as many things as it fixes on very similar cars. The biggest help troubleshooting and tuning for me has been datalogging.
Datalog Lab works with the Link. It's trial for 30 days. Very good app IMO. :bigtu: |
