Default Which set-up will provide more grip?

I have an HPDE this weekend and have two sets of wheels and tires which I can run.

The first are Hankook RS-2's 225s on 15x8 6ul's.

The second set are RA-1's, 205s on stock daisies.

Which ones do you think will offer the most grip? I think the RA-1's would be faster if they were mounted on wider wheels, but for some reason I had them mounted on the daisies.

So 205 r-compounds on narrow wheels or 225 rs-2's on wide wheels?

Thanks for any input.

RA-1's shaven? If so, then more grip for sure, if not then there still should be more grip over the RS-2's.

The RA-1's are not shaved but they aren't new either. Actually I don't know if they have ever been shaved, I bought them slightly used. The PO may have had them shaved, I'm not sure.

Like I said they aren't new and are fairly worn.

You may get some rear wheel slip for a corner or two untill the ra-1s get some heat in them. After that it should not really be a comparison in total grip. The narrower tires and wheels may feel less 'stable', but you'll still have more grip.

heat cycles... age... lots of variables - depends on the course too. Longer straights and less curves put the wider tire at a disadvantage.
