After placing an order for axles with them about 2 weeks ago, I called today to see where the hell they were. I was told that they had no order under my name or even my zip code. "Must have gotten lost in the shuffle". So thanks planetmiata, for wasting two weeks of my time. They didn't even have any when I called this time, although last time they said they had them in stock.

So where can I get these? Google searching for miata parts just brings up 50 copies of the same basic page. They seem pretty hard to come by with all these turbos n stuff bein so popular.

I beleive he's looking to do a 1.6 to 1.8 conversion. What are your axles from?

+1 for www.car-parts.com, probably cheaper than any Miata specific vendor too.

btw, i used a search engine similar to car-parts.com to do my 1.8 rearend conversion.... cost me a total of 600 for everything.

In addition to car-parts.com, I've used u-r-g.com - where I got my 1.8 conversion (plus a free "accidental" rx7 rear) for $500 delivered. I think the real advantage to these salvage search sites, is the yards don't have make/model specific inflated prices. But you do run the risk of not getting what you want- as in my case I got the rx7 diff first, but called back and they shipped a Miata diff the second time and let me keep the rx7 unit. - rob

Wow...I was treated really well by Planet Miata. They sent me 2nd-gen axles (I think from an '00 or '01) for like $70-90, as I recall. Quick to ship.

I got took buy carparts on ebay, "lost my axles somewhere" that was gay, thank god for FM's salvage section (check it every once and a while they have 1.8 axles) Mine are so nice, look brand new(sooo happy)

Same thing kinda happened to me. I went to a salvage yard to do my 1.8 rear conversion for $600 and they gave me an "accidental" Torsen LSD.

Thanks guys, I used car-parts and ordered from RCS Autoparts in TX. Sound familiar?
$130 shipped. Not bad, not great either. I'll update this when I get them.
