Lowe's and Home depot Suck.
I spent the better part of my afternoon driving all over town to get a female 1/8 to 1/8 hose barb. No one has it. None of the parts stores. Now I have to use the crappy compression fitings that come with the boost gauge. Go buy a female 1/4 to 1/4 hose barb. And an adapter tee just to hook up the gauge.
I'm sorry I don't like red neck rigging. It usually ends up in disaster, or just plan ugly. I'm going to try and find an Ace Hardware. The Stewart Warner gauge comes with stupid parts. This should be plug up and your done. They didn't give one single hose connector for tubing. And the tubing is tiny and hard. But the gauge looks good. The tiny tubing can be forced into my vacume hose id. It is snug. It doesn't take much pressure to attach the vaccume to the map on ms. Do you think this would work. Awwww it isn't worth chancing. What do you think? |
big box hardware sucks. go to the little ACE that's been there for 20 years, doesn't have A/C, and is run by old men. they'll have what you need.

I have a Stewart Warner boost gauge too. I just stuck the plastic tube as far into a vacuum hose as I could then ziptied over it to help clamp it. It's been fine for 2 years.

ACE always has the right stuff baby, uh huh.

Did you try Auto stores? Napa is usually a good place to find fittings and they can order it if its not an in stock item. Earls Performance also has lots of usefull fittings... Good luck- Bryan

You can find a lot of those strange type fittings made by "HELP!" in Autozones and PepBoys.

In Dallas there is a shop or 2 that deals specifically in hardware fittings and adapters like that.

try elliott's or a plumbing shop.

Go to this place:

I've usually had luck getting that type of stuff at Lowes.
The NAPA here is a fucking JOKE. Ace always has everything. Home Depot/Lowes have a wide selection of metric nuts and bolts in 2 sizes. |
