Which Lube to Use?

Got a new TurboSmart Kompact Plumb Back BOV. It needs to be lubed up (I think) before I install it (and before I go messing around with different springs). What kind of oil/lubricant is the best ot use in this situation? TIA

I use synthetic brake caliper lubricant on my Forge.

I guess it's pretty hard to go on the turbosmart website and check the instructions :jerkit:

Lubricate the bore and the piston with Uni-Glide™, hydraulic oil or sewing machine oil (see figure 1) – DO NOT use grease or
viscous oils

Neo Synthetic is the only oil you can use for this valve.

I hope you're kidding right? If not, stop using the Interwebz or something bad will surely happen to this planet!

Let me take you by the hand:

Step 1: http://www.turbosmartonline.com/
Step 2: Click on the link "Instructions & Downloads" wich is the last link on the right, next to the "Dealer Locator" link
Step 3: Choose the right instructions (in PDF) for you BOV under the "Blow Off Valves - Universal" title.
Step 4: Read the PDF to find the tips about lubricating the BOV
Step 5: Have fun with your ---- Lube :loser:

And FYI you BOV doesn't need to have a different spring to get adjusted, you only have to rotate the cap to adjust stiffness.

And please, don't get butthurt this time. At least you shouldn't with your lube ;)

Thanks Dark...but my BOV is so new that the instructions are not on the website and it is a little different different from any on there. The instructions that came with it make no mention of taking it apart, cleaning and lubing it. I can fax them to you if you would like so you will forgive me for asking a question on this website. I see you post here quite often. The tension is not adjustable. So I think my question was ok to ask. I am not butt hurt btw, just pulling your chain a little. My skin is a bit thicker than you Canadians. :)

Thanks for taking me by the hand.......I haven't held hands in a long time.....with anyone!!!!

Peace
