Default 2001 engine into 1999 body

I am thinking of purchasing a 1999 body with no engine. I have a 2001 dressed block sitting in the garage now that could go into the 1999. I have all the parts I need, including the ECU for the 2001 now. Has anyone done this before and what do I need to know? Will the VVT be a problem?

Thanks, Ed

I don't have any real-world experience, but I'd presume the only things different are the VVT and some other minor electrical things.

I'd recommend a full 2001 Engine harness to make the job easier.. the 01 ECU will not plug into a 99 Car. Other than that it should be quite simple.

Chasis, engine, ECU, harness...if you have all those, I don't see why not...

Well, because I HAVE a 2001 engine already and the 1999 is priced WELL.

So, I guess all I need is the harness from an '01. Any idea of the cost of one, used?

Hi Ed!

I thought you already had the full '01 harness. Tom @ The Parts Group was able to answer a few of my wiring harness questions. http://www.partsgroup.com/contact.aspx
