Manifold coolant bypass

Has anyone totally bypassed coolant flow into the manifold? Can it be done, or I should ask, should it be done? I live in south FL and I thought that bypassing the coolant could lower intake temps.

That thread talks about blocking the TB, I wanna know if you can block the manifold all together.

Yes you can. It won't hurt anything, just block the ports and call it a day.

I dont see how you will.

The point at the rear of the engine doesnt go anywhere, it's completely sealed, it just hits that flange of the IM.
The one on the front half, travels through a small passage to a little nipple to feed to the TB.

You'd have to weld the head shut and mill it smooth. I'm just assuming, but I bet mazda did it so the aluminum on the head heats up together, or somewhat helps keep the coolant cool as it hits the cooled aluminum of the IM.

I bypassed my TB and manifold (installed an ebay teflon "phenolic" gasket without water passage holes). No problems so far...

I forgot about that option.
