Default Another head removal issue.

I can't for the life of me get this damn thing off, I've removed the exhaust and intake manifolds and just about everything else off of the head that you could think of. I tried getting it off and it still feels bolted on! And yes I did remove the head bolts. Anyone else run into this problem? I could bust out the cherry picker, but the engine is on a stand already so it's not like I'll be pulling it from a car. I don't want to pry it off or jam something in between the head and block and **** up a perfectly good head.

Rubber mallet tapping around it might help pop it loose.

I'll go give those a whirl. I'm just worried about warping it. It still feels like it's bolted down but it's not. When I took the head off the engine in the car it came off like it wanted to.

try putting the Intake manifold back on with a nut or two, it will give you more leaverage to break the seal.

I'll do that with the exhaust manifold barring the other two techniques not working.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

the brace that holds the intake mani? it's from the block to the intake so it could be holding it down

All the manifolds are off of my head, the engine I got didn't have the brace on it.

That leads me to think I'm going to just part out my old engine.

Anyone need parts? LOL!
