The turbo is oil cooled only.

My coolent never goes over 210 degreesm in 95 degree weather of hard driving. Oil never goes over 225. Im sure a long track session would start to overheat it, but hard driving on the street doesent.

Every time I park the car during the summer, I can hear the radiator boiling over. I think the bottom of the manifold is heating the coolant line under it.

What is your setup going to be?

Not sure. I have a 2" coolradiator.com piece, 24-row bar and plate oil cooler, and coolant reroute. I plan on shrouding the front and keeping the tray. I also have the begi scooper but don't want to use it because I'll have to cut my r-pack lip for it. I'm also considering hacking the bumper to get more air in there like the AIM-tuning car.

I generally take the approach of solving problems as they happen, if they happen. Enstead of guessing and throwing a bunch of money at a problem you may not actually have. Overheating on this car hasn't really been much of an issue.

I agree with BenR. Use what you have now and run it. Most people don't need the big *** Koyo's.

I don't want to spend any more money, but I think my intercooler is too big and I'm going to be stuck hacking the bumper. I'm going to do some fiberglassing on the stock mouth to hopefully get some air around the intercooler and into the radiator, but seal everything off so the air is forced to go through both heat exchangers. I still haven't seen anyone do that other than aimtuning...who needed a larger opening than stock.

I love this ****. Everyone here says this, which I believe, then everyone on miata.net says you have to buy a $500 radiator and $400 shroud with fans.

I don't see how air coming through the intercooler is so super heated that it can't cool water in the radiator.

It's your money and your time. You can always come up with excuses to not make forward progress toward your goal if you let yourself. I don't think anyone here expects you to actually turbo your car and track it at this point.

Get off the internet and turbo your already ****. You won't know what works for you and your car at your tracks untill you do it. If you gotta hack **** then hack it, when it's actually necessary.

Living on the road sucks, and I understand you're probably just trying to kill time and overthinking **** because you can't actually turn wrenches. But if you're able to make 10+ trackdays a year, you can just skip one and get your car done.

Last year was great because I was working 3 hours from home, close to Hallett. I lived out there last year. Now I'm in Illinois, have an engine on a stand in Dallas with boxes and boxes of ****, and you're right...nothing to do out here but chase women and think about **** that's not important. I'd like to take a week off, build my car, then take it to "Miatas at Hallett" for its first track day...but that's 4-hours away and I'm not so sure that I'll make it home.

I really wanted to go to Hallett and rape then spit on everyone this year. I told myself last year that it was a good, conservative goal.

Last year on stock radiator and fans, I overheated at the track. This year with Godspeed and low profile fans I have overheated parked.

The culprits seem to be the A/C and lowprofile fans. Without the A/C condenser pumping heat into the radiator, it is fine at any speed. The lowprofile fans don't seem to do the job that the OEM ones did at low speeds and stopped..

It's not just that it's higher than ambient after passing through the I/C, it's also not getting the same CFMs. The air just doesn't have the same velocity behind an I/C or AC Condenser.

I dont understand it either.

I never overheated on my 92 with the huge fricking Starion i/c covering the whole mouth in TEXAS HEAT. And that's according to the heat sensor on my old link so it was being monitored.

Run what you have and see how it goes.

OG... Could you elaberate abit on the slim fans? You said the OEM fan dose a better job pulling air then those fan you had? What is the flow rate on those Slim fans?
