Worked really well in my '79 mini. 660kg and gear limited to 125mph
Best part about it was the 6-speed sequential box.

Want. What does that motor weigh compared to a Miata motor?

If I remember correctly the hayabusa powerplant (engine and tranny) tips the scale at just about 200lbs.

You save aprox. # 200 going to a Hayabusa, some in engine obviously and more not using the trany, if you don't need a reverse gear assembly.

Will they have it running for Miatafest?

Busa Mini makes more sense as a toy to play with.

Mounting the motor like that will require a dry sump.

I cant see all of this time and money being worth it. Even if you can say "I was the first".
There sure are some better options regarding motor selection.

Geez, not many motors that look tiny in a Miata engine bay.

Hear ye, hear ye, I've granted banning authority to neogenesis2004 specifically to ban "reading comprehension failures" to cleanse this site of stupidity. If you are banned and bother me with your endless crying and bullshit appeals you'll be perma-banned. You've been warned, move along.

I was recently trying to think of the lightest V8 you could squeeze into a miata... so far the best I came up with was an Audi 40v V8 with timing chain, coming in at 360lbs... holy magnesium everything, batman. That Intake manifold weighs about 10lbs.

The hartley V8 (two hyabusa motors, basically) is too spendy. At least the 40v audi pulls hard right to 7.2k

call me crazy but I am not impressed with this swap.

I'd rather do f20c turbo or LSx
