Pretty cool to see some MT.net cars in this article.

Here is my footage from when Sam drove my car.

Ha ha ha, nice article! "Homebuilt atomic rat turbo manual-steering nutbag. " is the ultimate compliment.

mgeoffriau 01-25-2017 08:34 PM

All I can watch are his thumbs hooked through the steering wheel.

Lokiel 01-26-2017 01:06 AM

I can't stop cringing over the gear crunches - that must be hard to watch Aidan (I hate it when I do it in my car, even more if someone else does it in my car).

Cool article. I want an exocet.

JasonC SBB 01-26-2017 11:09 AM

Does the Exocet weigh that much less than a Catfish??

I think it has to do with the fact that the exocet does not have full panels like the catfish so it feels faster. The curb weight posted on excomotive's site is 1400-1700 lbs depending on configuration and on bauers site it says 1550 for their sema car but not sure of the exact config for that car.

Like BMWidmer said, super cool to see some of your guys cars on R&T!!! Good motivation for me to get my TSE turbo swap going ASAP. Sucks it's like 20 degrees in my garage........

KMiata 01-26-2017 01:30 PM

Yeah, good article! Glad they were able to drive Andrew's K series car. Too bad they said it has an S2000 engine :(

However supposedly they are making some corrections, that being one of them.

BMWidmer 01-26-2017 02:17 PM

I hear that Kmiata, as i was reading through the article i noticed that and it bothered me at first but I didn't want to nitpick the article and take away from the fact that someone was allowed to publish that large of an article on M@MRLS. I am sure it was hard to gather all of his thoughts after the event with that hectic of a schedule driving 20 cars, interviewing and photographing each one.

Chiburbian 01-26-2017 02:27 PM

Any idea if this was a print article or online only? Years ago a car I owned was in a magazine and it was a pretty cool memento.

aidandj 01-26-2017 02:29 PM

I would not mind a hard copy but I think it's online only.

It was originally going to be a web-only article, then supposedly one reason it got delayed so much was they wanted to put it in the print magazine as well. I dunno if that actually happened or not, though.

Anyone subscribe?

Totally agree, which is why I haven't made a big deal about it. Moti mentioned it to Keith on M.net, and Keith said it was getting corrected at some point, which is good enough for me. I do love that they came out to the event and drove so many cars.

It looks like it's been partially fixed at this point.

I'm surprised about all the talk about lag. I can see it from the precision 5558 turbo but the rest don't seem too lazy.

JasonC SBB 01-26-2017 04:46 PM

So Ian's 23 psi (?) of lag feels like a 930 which runs 10 psi. That's progress.

So did he drive with ALLofit?

cabowabo 01-26-2017 05:49 PM

Rad article is rad.

What's wrong with that? He's not offroading, he's lapping a road course.
