Mini Cooper S SC Conversion

1 Attachment(s)
Greeting from the UK. I dont know if you would be interested but I have recently taken an Eaton M45 SC from a Mini Cooper S and fitted it to my 1.6 S Ltd, I had it tuned and dyno'd at 200.5hp at the FW, 170hp at the wheels and 165.7 torque (8.9psi).

I have CAD drawings for the mounting brackets etc and I did a few build threads on mx5nutz here in the UK. Quite a few people in the UK are now doing the conversion as it is cheaper than the JRSC M45 bolt on kit and the fun of doing it yourself.

Please note I am not selling the SC conversion, nor will I build it for you but if you want the drawings - They are free!!

cool little retrofit. I'm pretty sure a cooper sc is fairly pricey and not that common here in the states though

Thats a shame, they are quite cheap here in the UK, between £50 - £200 with only delivery milage.

Damn dude, I just saw that you are running 2 throttle bodies. How is that working out for you?

Also what type of engine management are you running?

Its good, especially with the I/C, the throttle response is immediate. I am running MS1 v3.

That's a pretty sweet deal. I'll have to keep my eyes open for a cheap mini sc.

Nice work! I make 167hp @ wheels with the JRSC on an 1800 engine, W/A intercooler and 10:1 compression, so you are doing very well!

Cool swap. I have been this close to yanking the SC off Meg's cooper since she got it and throw a 2554 on that bi-ach. I even have a waterpump solution designed. Anyway, nice numbers for 9psi! Very clean install.

Hi great build.
Planning on doing something similar to my 99 NB N/A
I have a few questions:

1.did you consider fuel injection to lower temperature instead of Intercooler?

2.do you still have the car with this setup?

3. How's reliability?

Thanks,
Alex

A PM would probably be the best way to get in-touch with this guy, although he hasn't logged in since 2013 so you are probably SOL on getting your questions answered.

Have you looked into flux capacitors to cool the air instead of a fuel injector?

I'd ban if I wasn't so tired

Maybe he actually replied in 2010 and it only just spat out of the tubes now? :dunno:
