Sorry you are correct, 1/4 NPT, 1/2" hose.

I ordered up the moroso slash cut pipe and check valve from Summit.

My plan is as follows:

Weld shut PCV port
Enlarge "tiny hole" in VC baffle and possibly make another hole for good flow
Cut off and weld shut breather
Weld in a -12 male fitting on top of the VC, near the end of the baffle chamber
Connect VC to a sealed, non-VTA, baffled peterson catch can with a -12 and -10 fitting on it
Connect catch can to slash cut with some SS braid line and a hard line adapter. The slash cut is 5/8 so -10 hose will fit.

My only concern about this is: What happens when my engine is vacuum (not in boost)? Would it be best to have the PCV connected to the intake?

What do you mean what happens when your engine is in vac? Air flows through the idle control valve just like normal. You might need to bump up your idle screw a bit. When step on the gas it goes like normal.

By "when in vac" I mean "when not in boost", the valve cover will be totally sealed because of the check valve. Is that bad.

you should always be pulling vacuum on the slash-cut so long as the engine is running - so not sure why out-of-boost matters.

I got my Moroso check valve and was surprised at how easy it was to blow through it backwards really have to blow hard before you notice much restriction backwards from forwards. Makes me wonder if the one I got works right.

So what exactly is the point of the check valve? To prevent your seals blowing if you have afterfire in your exhaust system?

That’s a good question I sort of thought the check valve would be more aggressive at stopping flow back. Seems like it might stop a small explosion in the exhaust from heading back up the vent tube but not much else if the part I have is actually working correctly.

Yah.

It's hard to attach a -12 fitting to a -12 hose when you don't have wrenches that are big enough. :|

You can get a full set of AN wrenches for ~$40 delivered new. Or get a used set on eBay for less. Based on your build, that might be a worthy purchase.

Mine seems to be working good. When I take the line off I can actually feel air being sucked into the hose going to the slash cut at Idle. No oil smoke clouds out the exhaust ether.

Summit sent me another check valve and it works as I expected it to unlike the first one.

Update first track day and the slash cut was sucking oil out of the catch can and out the tailpipe after left hand corners. Didn’t do that for any of the street driving I was doing prior.

I’m thinking some sort of check valve in the return line and cap off the OEM PCV breather port.
