Motor Mounts?
 

My MK turbo car's exhaust is hitting the body, under hard acceleration. I've tried turning the pipe all the way towards the trans. I only seem to have about 1/4" clearance. Makes me wonder if the motor mount has collapsed. Are they obvious if it has collapsed, without removing it? They're OEM with 60k, 40k boosted. What mounts would you recommend? Street driven toy. 200ish whp.

Easiest way is to put a jack under the motor and raise it to see movement.

I ran the stiffer rubber mazdaspeed mounts for 10 years on my track car when it was nat asp.
When I went rotrex, I swapped to the hybrid supermiata/awr style which is one side poly, the other rubber mazdaspeed and these have been great.
Still going strong after 3 years.
There was a slight increase in nvh, mainly at idle and low revs but nothing earth shattering. Though mine is a noisy race car not a street car so ymmv.

The old mounts might be slightly compressed and when they are replaced it could raise the engine a little. Not sure where your hitting, but this might add insult to injury. I previously had the MSM/comp mounts which were very good. I'm now running the AWR mounts on both sides. Went with the 70 durometer and it was too much NVH at idle. I then modded the passenger side bushings which has helped, but still need to have a 1krpm idle. I recommend the SPM hybrid or the AWR with the 60 durometer bushings.

I went with Mazdaspeed mounts for my 100% street driven car. No complaints!

When I was running the Mazdaspeed mounts, I needed to use a washer under the driver's side mount to keep my RB header from hitting the front subframe. Slotting the washer will make it easier to install. When I switched to the BBFW race mounts, the problem went away, but you definitely don't want those on a street car... ;)

40,000 miles boosted and 200whp? stock mounts are holding on for dear life if they arent already shreded.
AWR or equivilent would be a very big help and comp mounts may be a good compromise to avoid contact under torque. A hammer may also work but I'd consider new mounts to be maintenence with that much abuse.
NVH can be rough at idle and low rpm but it's hardly noticable everywhere else. Shifting feels really good though.
