My 92 Miata Project So Far
26 Attachment(s)
My 92 miata with around 199k miles.
So this is how it all started when i first bought it for $1500. Except it was on stock rims and I was able to get these the same day from a friend and yes it did not come with a top... Attachment 40387 I ended up with this new top shortly after which was a PAIN to install... Attachment 40388 I ended up moving from FL to SC a little difference in climate.... Attachment 40389 Now that it has warmed up I can get to work...I got a ebay header along with TSUDO N1 cat-back with just a pipe welded in place of the cat. Attachment 40391 I had no jacks...so I used what i had lmao... Attachment 40390 First things I added/replaced were the Tanabe bar and plugs/wires Attachment 40392 Next was nothing much but the air filter.. Attachment 40393 Then the fun stuff started...Got a DNA radiator with dual fans..and a new coolant over flow Attachment 40394 Decided SC wasnt for me and got back to FL...along with some new paint Attachment 40395 So clean...btw the front lights i did not black out...but i did do the rear just because..lol Attachment 40396 So now ive decided i want to move my filter away from the header and i riged this...and also spent FOREVER polishing the valve cover Attachment 40397 It was time for the air intake manifold....and that driver side has finally started looking empty hmmm Attachment 40398 So i got ahold of another miata thats exterior was in bad shape but had a basic greddy turbo set up and broke it down and installed it on mine...i honesty didnt know what all i was doing since ive never worked with turbos..i just copied the setup to mine....lets just say it didnt last longer then a week before i decided to break it down before i ruined a perfectly fine motor lol... Attachment 40399 |
greddy kit can be decent, just gotta get a bigger downpipe, larger injectors, intercooler, and better ecu. also ditch the filter and intake piping, and pray your exhaust manifold doesn't crack... some do, some don't. mine never did but I replaced with artech unit anyways. You'll also want to make sure you change the oil feed and return lines to something reliable; I use a -4 AN feed line and a -10 AN return line tapped to the oil pan.
It'll get you boosted for cheap and the turbo is still good for low 200 whp with the proper supporting mods. FYI, You'll also want to get the midpipe for the tsudo replaced with a 2.5 pipe, since it's beveled down to a 2.25 until after the midpipe. It's still a good exhaust for the money, got mine for around $95 shipped a few years back and I still have no complaints. My friend got one and it melted his bumper though, not sure why mine never had that issue. |
Clean looking ride for sure. Love how you have kept the engine bay so meticulously clean, especially the polished valve cover and intake mani. Did you just air spray a flat black without a clear coat for the paint job? Whichever way you did it I like how it turned out. I have been debating just sanding down and using the flat black rustoleum spray. Keep up the good work!

its just a flat black paint with no clear coat. im content the way it turned out but i wish it had more of a wet look to it. Ive spayed a 86 nissan pickup with that rustoleum and it turned out like the first pic i have i wouldnt recomend it lol
