Default Will 1.8 clutch fit 1.6 engine and tranny???

Hi Guy,

I am looking to upgrade the 1.8L clutch assembly into my 1.6 engine and tranny. Is it possible, since its 2.5cm larger in Dia.

Do I need to have the 1.8 flywheel also?

Anything else??

Thanks for the responds!

you need the 1.8 flywheel and clutch to do the swap but it will work just fine.

Grip is more important, just get a lighter 1.8 flywheel like ACT or fidanza if weight is so important to you.

I don't know how much additional weight I am looking at for 1.8 flywheel.... but grip is more important to me. Anyone know if there is a significant down side for the additional weight of the flywheel?

I just put in a 1.8 clutch in my stock 1.6 last weekend and did not notice a difference with the added weight.

I highly enjoy driving with the stock flywheel over the lightened one.

i have a spec s3, so yes, tons more lock-up. I will have some power on it by the end of summer. It chatters a little, but not bad. The pedal feels just like stock, which is what I wanted. SS line too.

1.6 held power just fine. I see no need to do it.
