I'm going down to run MSR Houston possibly soon.

Everything looks good btw.

You can make anything stick around a roadcourse with enough tire.

Yeah...better power to weight ratio then my bike...very exciting

Very nice build. Who's head flange on that manifold?

cjernigan 10-18-2007 03:47 PM

Who is doing the fabwork?

mikef85 10-18-2007 03:55 PM

I've been doing most of my business with Ric Stephens. He has a fabricator that is built the manifold.

Nice Build Mike !! Manifold is crazy ... any HP figures, at least you are trying to reach from this setup?

Car isn't done quite yet. It should be finished in the next 2-3 weeks. I still have a little bit more fab work to be done. Then get it tuned and dynoed.

The set-up is built to do about 650 bhp. But, chances are the clutch will slip before then.

noice...i want your babies
i really like the mani as well, any chance of duplicating and selling for dirt cheap? id be in!!!

magnamx-5 10-22-2007 05:45 PM

Yes we are most def clutch limited on off the shelf stuff those coils look to be GM hei coils or something similiar, do you have any specs on them? Very nice build man. What are you going to run for traction?

I am unsure of any specs on the coils. Unfortunately, The only information I have on them is in the Tec Manual. Which doesn't really provide much technical information on them. But, it seems that Electromotive uses GM Sensors, so I wouldn't see it far fetched for the coils to also be GM...

Haven't decided what I am going to do as far as traction. On the street, I am going to run my 205/50-15 T1Rs that are mounted on Heliums. On the strip, I am probably going to mount some 24X8ish slicks. With the T1R's, i was able to hook 300 whp from a roll (even in 2nd Gear) w/o any traction problems whatsoever...I couldn't tell tire slip at all. With the 6 speed and 4.3 gears, I wasn't able to produce enough load to get much boost in first from a roll....but with the 3.6's I'll have to see how it goes.

After I get the car running, I am going to go into financial conservation mode again. I won't be able to track the car until I get a Cage in it, which I don't plan on doing until the beginning of the year. Aside from the cage, I need to get rims/slicks, Race Seat, and harness. I can't think of anything else that I need to replace (unless something breaks....which is quite probable).

I am probably going to keep it pretty low on boost for a while. By low on boost <20 psi. Once I get everything settled and I feel confident, I will move on up into the 30 psi area. At which point I hope to put down in the 525-550whp numbers.

I think I answered your questions plus alot more

magnamx-5 10-22-2007 06:13 PM

205's at 500whp   yeah that will hook you run those to make smoke on cheap tires right ;) So you think a 8 inch slick can handle that power if the suspension is setup right? I would have though you would be getting closer to 9-10 inch power to wieght territory? But i :dunno: much about slicks.

For me, this is trial and error...I'm 21 and this is my first project like this. I am going to try out an 8" slick. The car doesn't weigh too much (No AC or extras), so I am hoping that it will be enough.

For now, I am going to have to have a very expensive smoke maker.

Zabac 10-22-2007 06:50 PM

very expensive...can you talk to your parents about adopting me...im a charmer with the parents

mikef85 10-22-2007 06:53 PM

What does parents have to do with anything?

Zabac 10-22-2007 06:58 PM

no, offense, you said you are 21 and that set-up looks like its a shit load of money, first thought comes, rich family...its ok, ill be good

mikef85 10-22-2007 07:02 PM

All is good:), My initial reaction was defensive (i'm tired, I am working graveyards this week)...I'm young yeah, but I support myself and my habits.

This set-up has cost a rediculous amount of money. If I put everything together, including the cost of the car, I am probably right at around 30k.

mikef85 10-22-2007 07:08 PM

Also, if any of you guys need AC or PS Parts, PM Me. I also have a catless 3" Enthuza Exhaust System that I am wanting to get rid of.
