My New Custom DP and a little donut vid

Just got my car back from the a local shop (Modern Automotive Performance)
where they made my new downpipe. Its a work of art. Just beautiful. Looks like a monster shrimp.

I will get better pics later. Its 3" to 2.5" v- band, two piece.

embed fail! Nice downpipe though ;)

kotomile 03-18-2010 09:53 PM

Private video?

Nice dp though.

Rushin 03-18-2010 09:54 PM

Can you see it? For some reason iMovie has that as a default.

gospeed81 03-18-2010 09:55 PM

wait...it starts at 3" and goes down to 2.5"....why?

kotomile 03-18-2010 09:57 PM

Nope. It says it's a private video. Try adjusting the permissions on youtube.

because i have a 2.25 catback and it would be impossible to mate a 3" to a 2.25. I am going to get a 2.5" exhaust tho soon.

Unless you're reverting to stock this is totally wrong. 3" exhaust is ALWAYS better.

The down pipe is made so i can have both 3" or 2.5 if i wanted.

TurboTim 03-19-2010 08:57 AM

How much was that downpipe?

Rushin 03-19-2010 09:00 AM

It was 600 with tax and install.

TurboTim 03-19-2010 09:07 AM

Good to know, thanks.

Enthuza 03-19-2010 09:26 AM

Rushin, give me a call when your ready for a 3" exhaust I'll make you a good deal. Jason.

icantthink4155 03-19-2010 10:15 AM

I love how as soon as it starts to warm up several people post donut videos.

Slayer 03-19-2010 10:54 AM

That DP is a beauty for sure..

I thought I read somewhere that, ideally, you want exhaust ID to gradually INcrease? But yours DEcreases... I'm not saying they made your DP backward, but did they?

I have never heard that. Its always either stays the same or decreases. Mine is done that way is because i have a 2.25" catback so mating a 3" downpipe to 2.25" catback is impossible.

I'd guess that you'd want the larger dia section as close to possible to the turbo as the exhaust is hotter and takes up more volume. So a 3 to 2.25 or whatnot is better than 2.25 to 3. IMHO.

Get a full 3" exhaust.
