Favorite Miata Memory?
In honor of the Miata's quarter-century birthday on Sunday, what is your fondest Miata Memory? That moment when you first got into boost after properly tuning? The way she smiled at you the first time after opening your garage?
For me it's probably a tie..
First when I first got my NA home and a buddy of mine who is familiar with miatas took me for a drive in my own car. It had R1Rs on it, and at one point on the drive I thought for sure we were going to run off and die (bendy country road) as he took a corner at "holyshit-my-old-car-could-never-do-this" speeds but the car just giggled a bit and asked for more.
Second would be when I first got my NB home and was giving it a deep cleaning, my girlfriend came outside and we were both just sitting in the car chatting. She decided it would be fun to try to straddle me for some sexy time, but her leg got stuck between the seat and the door panel, and she ended up putting most of her weight on the center of the steering wheel trying to un-tangle it. We learned two things in that moment--the first is that the NB horn is *much* easier to hit with your *** than the NA horn, and the second is that my NB has a very, VERY loud aftermarket air horn equipped. A few of the neighbors started peeking out of windows to see what all the noise was.

Iono, I think this thread could be fun.
I have a few fun Miata memories.
First was several years ago, going camping in my stock NA. We found a way to fit way too much stuff in it.
Also, the drive on Ohio's 555. The video below will probably give you a siezure but it cracks me up.
... that's all I can really think of for now.
Going to be making some awesome memories with this new Miata though!

Oh! And one time, I disassembled my mountain bike and fit it entirely inside the trunk of my white NB and headed up the canyon with my wife. We stopped at the ranger station to buy our pass and they asked why we were going up so I told them she was going to run and I would ride my mountain bike, which was in the trunk.
She smiled and laughed, then let us go.
Come to find out, ALL mountain bike trails were closed. Every last damned one of them because of excessive rains = trail damage, blah blah. So we just left. We realized then that the ranger really did think we were joking, or else she would have surely said something.

Well, all I have of my Miata now is memories (and a few spare parts), but my favorites are probably:
- Miatas @ MRLS 20-year anniversary
Got to ride in Andrew's black car, FM's targa, and two others at speed
Drove the pace car (NC v2) for the parade laps
Met a lot of mt.netters
- Miata tag with the Dallas crew
Trey and Jon using their white Miatae as bumper cars en route to the bar

LOL. That is great.
On a serious note, the best memory in my car was driving to Pikes Peak in 2012. Driving my car up the canyon to the parking lot, as I drove past people on the side of the road I got more people pointing/yelling, and generally just stoked on my car than I'd ever of imagined. My car is not that pretty, but it obviously appealed to that crowd. Feels good man.

I accidentally ended up at the 1/8th mile dragstrip one night and ran a best of 9.36 @ 79.xx embarrassing three different V8 Mustangs within about an hour.
But I really enjoyed pushing the car and testing my nerve around the high banks of Homestead-Miami Speedway.
I also really enjoyed pushing the car hard at Sebring and having it stick in turn 1 when I wasn't sure it would. I love chasing down other cars. That's the best part of owning the car.
