NA vs NB intake question
Hey guys, I just need to know, would a NB aftermarket intake fit on an NA ala direct bolt on? Or is there some key differences or modifications that need to be made to make it work? I searched and found nothing specifically saying what the key differences are or what needs to be modded so I hope you experts here can chime in.
The reason I'm asking is I can get a free K&N Typhoon NB intake but I have a NA.... I figured it's free so why not lol |
iacv is the main difference. and the physical size of the maf

Hmm, I see. In your knowledge, is there any way to make it work? Or have you ever heard of someone putting an NB CAI on an NA?

I stopped wasting time on useless mods long ago. It ads like .02hp
I guess the noise is cool, though even that doesn't amuse me. Turbo is much much better-er-er :) It's really not hard to make it work, you need a welder to weld in a big nipple for it. something like 1/4" or something or get creative and try to find a barb big enough or something. might have to hit your local hardware store |
Yeah, sadly I'm aware it's not going to make much of a difference but it's free stuff man! Can't say no lol.
So it's not much I have to do. I guess I'll get the intake and wing it, thanks. |
if it's free, I would
why not |
I wouldn't call it an intake or a CAI (considering it was located directly above the header) but just bolting on a cone filter directly on the MAF of an otherwise stock 95 netted 6 or 8whp for me when I first bought my car. Nothing else was done. Was curious to see how much power the car had (108whp) before I started messing with the typical mods and the filter was a sweet surprise.
BTW, it already had a K&N filter in the stock airbox so the gain must be eliminating the airbox. |
