NA6 Seatbelt Receiver too tall with aftermarket seats
I am currently installing Tillett B9 seats in my 1990 and the seat belt receivers now extend too high above the seat to be safe. I am 6’5” so the seats have to be in the extremely low/far back position they’re currently in.
The only solution I can come up with is swapping in NA8 belts and somehow mounting the NA8 receiver to the trans tunnel. Is there anyway to shorten the NA6 receiver or any other compatible receiver I could bolt to the trans tunnel keeping the stock NA6 belts? |
Cut the plastic off, so it’s only a fabric piece. Otherwise get some proper harnesses.

Also it’s a semi daily street car so I do not want to get harness for convenience and the whiplash risk as I would not have a HANS device. I am a are there are ASM 4 point harnesses with a rear loop on one of the shoulder straps that would be somewhat safer, but it’s still just a street car. |
I strap into a scroth 6-point every day, so you’ve got no sympathy from me. You’re trying to make a 30 year old safety system work with a new seat in a new location. Either move the pickup point or use a harness.
