Napa Brake Rotors
 

Man they're cheap. Got my Axxis Ultimates and decided to get some new rotors. My current slotted ones were wore out of spec, almost weren't even slotted anymore. (Bought the car that way.) Decided to get the Napa brand because they're the cheapest around and everyone else uses them with great luck.
Front Rotors: $17.37 Had to be ordered in, be here at 7am next day.
Rear Rotors: $15.80 In stock

Man, why would anyone ever have their rotors turned cause these are so damn cheap it doesn't make sense. I guess if you had some super expensive drilled/slotted units it might be worth it, but I don't think so.

I run them...its pointless to get rotors...slotted doesn't help that much anymore...I paid $54 for all 4 corners...

Where were your rear rotors made, USA or China? I paid $32 for rears and $18 for front. Fronts from Italy, rears from USA.

Hell i didn't even look at the boxes for the rears and I'll pick the fronts up tomorrow. They had to have them brought in from Nashville. I'll check the box on another rear rotor tomorrow for the hell of it cause I threw the boxes for mine in the dumpster and it's rank as hell.

Would you guys recommend these for track use?

Rob at Flipside has punished some Napa rotors at the track and they have done fine.

Just from what i've read others beat the hell out of them and they don't have problems. If they do have a problem, like one cracks. They spend the $15 and get a new one or $30 and get a new pair.

Those are the same pads I have, I love them. My car feels so much better. I dont know much about brakes, But to me It feels like I did more than just get pads. They need to heat up. they kinda feel like wet brakes you know nothing at first. If you brake you slow down of course but then when they heat you can feel them grab. they will heat themselves after a few turns of the rotor, the harder you push the faster you stop.

They do dust more than stock, but it is worth it.

huh? pads? we are talking about the rotors. I have some napa valueline pads up front on my 1.8 brake swapped 90, does just fine.

Because when you have a lathe, turning them is free, and there is no labor difference between turning them and replacing them. :gay:

I've also found that cheap rotors are fine. Maybe they add a few ounces of unsprung weight to each corner, who knows, but that's not important to me for how I use my cars. Pads IMO can make a big difference and rotors don't.

Without question. I've run my NAPA specials for around 10 events each year with Carbotech pads and few events on another set with Hawks, with no problems. For the price, I just toss a new set on at the beginning of each season.

jesus I didnt know they were THAT cheap at napa! I know where Im going to hit after payday.

I run the NAPA rotors and no complaints as of yet.

Yeah I suppose for some it could benefit, in my case of my rotors being shot there wasn't any practical reason not to replace them. I have access to a lathe and might end up turning a set one day, but that won't be for quite a while now.

I didn't realize so many people ran them :D.

They are dirt cheap. Full set of rotors for what I can get A set of pads for hehe.

After seeing this thread, just bought two new 1.6 front rotors for $15 each. Asked about turning and the guy said they charge $12 lol

Same thing here as well, $12 to turn. Just not worth the time or effort in my case. The time spent turning isn't worth knowing i have brand spankin new rotors on. If it turns out i start wearing pads out fast I might turn this set once but that would be all.

I would just buy the cheap ones and mill the slots myselfs. but then again i have access to a mill...

I'm going to rock napa rotors and hp+ pads at Hallett this weekend. Hopefully everything goes well.
