Need help deciding on a boost gauge...Pics if you have them...AEM + Boost Gages. :D
Yes...this is def a gay thread...but I'm having trouble deciding...so help a brother out. Pictures of said gauges or similar setups welcome.
I've got the moss dual gauge a-pillar pod from P1 Performance CHEAP when they went out of business: http://www.miatamania.com/Graphics/P...ge/MCC-283.jpg And I have an AEM UEGO Stuff...I'd like to keep it black/black...like this: http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produc...3_f%5B1%5D.jpg So...I want a simple gauge: Here are a few I'm thinking of: Autometer Z Series Boost Gauge -30/20: http://www.egauges.com/images/autome...e_d/2614_d.jpg or I could just run the silver bezel with the black face and run this gauge...I like the gauge itself more, but not the bezel...I could just paint it: http://www.egauges.com/images/autome...e_d/3301_d.jpg |
Either would look fine. If I got the silver I would just swap the silver bezel onto the AEM.

i like the prosport boost gauge...i just bought one and got it today so i'll install and tkae pics later, or tomorrow
|
Greddy boost gauge... coloring is almost exact match for OEM gauges.
I'd never buy it though... too much $$... but it came in the 240 I got.... so I raided the car for it :p |
I just installed my Moss a-pillar, LC1, and Defi boost gauge this past week. I love how it looks both on/off and day/night. I hated having my boost gauge in the side vent hole....I could never see it!

Got a garrett turbo, so got a garrett boost gauge...I likey mucho!

Nice. I want something that matches the car/gauge and doesn't really stand out and say...hey, I is a ricar...because the a-pillar does that shit enough.

Here are the ProSport gauges... love em like mad; tho just got rid of the AFR gauge and replaced it with the AEM UEGO cuz it simply works better and is dimmable.
Note: I converted to All amber lighting for needles and blue EL for the rest; so it all works well. Add in the Eclipse CD3200 HU and it all matches well. Attachment 7144 Attachment 7145 |
I've had not but problems with my prosport boost gauge. Had it replaced once and it still sucks. When in boost the needle jumps all over the place.

Autometer gauge pod and autometer phantom boost and water temp gauges. Relatively inexpensive and gets the job done. |
I've got a Prosport boost gauge and it works fine. Very steady in boost or anywhere else for that matter. I am also using their water temp gauge.
|
Nice guys. I love the stock blue gauges...that looks awesome.
|
AEM UEGO and Autometer SportComp Ultralite Boost gauges in my eyeball vents, it was a bitch to install the UEGO in the vent due to its size.
|
shit is a weird size...

I had never heard of these prosport gauges, until my friend got one for his WRX. It is almost 100% accurate to his Accessport readings, so close i cannot even tell a difference. The needle moves steady, it lights up really bright, you get a choice of colors, it is easily readable, it looks like a much more expensive gauge, and i just love it. I am going to be buying one to replace my FM one as soon as i get home.
Im not sure if they are all this good, maybe he just happend to get a good one? For less than 40 bucks im going to try my luck, and if i get one as good as his.. ill be happy as can be. |

I have the old old OLD version of ProSport gauges: http://www.jugrnot.com/CRW_9143.jpg Never ONCE had a single problem with them. The sending unit was a slight pain in the ass for oil pressure because of the physical size, but I got that sorted out. All three of those gauges were like 140$ total. These fucking pieces of shit on the other hand..... http://www.jugrnot.com/CRW_5570.jpg I've had 4 of these junk ass autometer gauges, which cost 70 fucking dollars a piece for an inaccurate overpriced low quality hunk of mechanical fucking trash. FOUR BOOST GAUGES, ALL showed boost when sitting IN THE FUCKING BOX, BRAND NEW!!!!! :jerkit: |

AEM 30-4406
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA252_.jpg "Each gauge includes interchangeable silver and black bezels and black and white faceplates " |
I've got the extra faces and stuff, but I don't think white/silver would look right when the rest of the car is straight black.
I ended up with the Z series gauge...I'll post pictures as soon as I can steal a camera from a roommate. :) |
