Need help finding non existant fitting
 

Anyone know where to find a -6an to 5/16" hose barb fitting? I'm starting to think they do not exist.:crx:

Looked there. They have -6AN to 3/8"fittings. Already bought some of them from ATPturbo but thought I would keep looking for the smaller ones.

Perhaps tell us exactly what you're trying to do. Odds are they have something that will work.

Bought 14mm banjos with -6an fittings and -6an braided lines for my water lines. Need to connect the braided lines to the engine. Figure the best way (which may be wrong) is to use a -6an fitting that has a hose barb on the other end, and use some silicone water hose to finish the connection.

Got any pics of where the water lines go on the motor? I'm guessing there's a couple of little pieces of metric pipe on the motor where the old rubber hose slid over and was held tight by a clamp.

Describing this crap is hard and confusing sometimes. When I did my oil feed and drain, I drew out what I was trying to do on paper. Some type of visual representation helped me to figure out the best/simplest way to do my oil lines. Perhaps you could do the same?

Summit has a decent amount, but there's a LOT that they don't have.

This place does pretty good as far as covering the different options, but there is still stuff that exists and they don't have.

But with a smaller hose barb. (5/16") 3/8" is slightly too big.

All I'm saying is if they don't make that fitting, it's for a reason. Odds are you have something that's too big or two small and could just change the setup and use the correct size hose. IE-no since in running a -12AN water line when it connects to a 5/16" hose. For one, you'll never find that fitting, and two, if 5/16 is the smallest point, running a bigger hose is pointless anyways.

I've fucked with AN shit enough to know when you can't find a fitting, you're doing it wrong.

That would "work", but it's gonna be a hose clamped onto a fitting, that's screwed into a fitting, that's screwed into a fitting, that has a fitting that screws into it with a hose crimped to it. An unnecessary amount of failure points, and all those fittings won't bend or flex, so packaging becomes a problem depending on where and how he routes these lines. And it generally looks like shit.

My point was he can probably do something different, but he won't give us any more info to work with. If he wants to keep his -6AN diameter, perhaps he can drill and tap the old 5/16 pipe fittings out of the maita wherever they are and tap them to put a NPT to 6AN fitting, which would make for less connections.

Ok, below is a typical water line setup for an FM turbo. I need to connect braided lines to the points circled in red.

I bought from ATPTurbo:

14mm banjo w/ -6an male fitting
Custom length braided hose w/ -6an ends

Now, I need a fitting to screw into the end of the braided line (-6an) and has a hose barb on the other end. I will attach silicone hose to that barb, and the attach the other end of the hose to the points circled in red.

Obviously they make fittings to do this, but not in a 5/16" size. That's all I was asking about. If nobody knows where to find that size, don't worry about it. I already purchased fittings with a 3/8" barb and can make them work if need be.
