Need help finding shop to do RX-7 diff swap

Anyone know a good place in Orlando or nearby to get the driveshaft, axles and mounting plate modified? I'd like to get a shop that does good work and isn't going to rape me of all my money.

EDIT: I'm planning on using the Miata driveshaft, TII diff and housing, TII axles and Miata hubs.

you don't have to modify anything, it's all bolt on....

diff or rear end swap?

Then what is this guy talking about? http://www.geocities.com/crash41301/diff.html

As far as I knew, the TII diff housing is longer so the driveshaft needs to be cut and the axles will not fit the Miata hubs.

Are you talking about just the gear swap? I'm pretty sure that is not as strong, so I wasn't planning on doing that.

The only shop that I can think of that I feel comfortable recommending is Mazworx. Not sure that they will be able to take on the work right now though...

I think the question should be WHY do you want to do this? High HP drag car?

Not gonna argue that the TII diff isn't stronger than a 7" miata diff, just looking for the need.

oh, didnt see you are doing the 8".... but yeah, no greddy will ever need an 8" rear.

TII diff was cheap and I'm one of those people where, if I'm not going to do it right, why bother doing it at all. Maybe I will never need it, but it's nice to know it's there if I ever go insane with other mods. If I swap the guts into the Miata housing (if I can even do that, haven't checked) will it be strong enough to never have a problem with 250-300rwhp?

All I know is that its a fairly involved swap, but its not undoable. You say you want to do it right or not at all, but this could end up costing a lot of money to be done right. A 7" swap though does not require any fabrication and can be easily sold on the forums for a similar price to what you would pay for it. It would be a nice rear end to have for a v8 swap though.

Well I guess see what a shop will charge for the conversion. If it's less than $1000, go for it. If not, spend $800 on a 7" set up, which should be just fine for you anyway. Personally, I'd only concern myself with the 8" rear if I was running 350+ wtq and was a drag racer.

If you're a drag racer I'd figure that both diffs will have the same weak spot: axle shafts at the hubs.
