Need a recomendation for a new radiator.
I guess or rather hope the third time is the charm. Two mishimoto radiators that I have owned, both had leaks. My second one which I already patched twice with JB weld sprung a third leak, this one is not fixable being somewhere between where the fins meet the end tank. The first rad had a leaky filler neck.
Anyway, I need to buy a new rad, forget this noise with mishimoto. I need something else. What do you guys recommend? |
My koyo 37mm is great after 15k miles...

I have no idea who else makes radiators. All except the Koyo are identical, except for the name as far as I know.

I run radiator barn brand stock replacement radiator. Better than OEM quality and works well for my setup. Never have overheating problems with a 20x12x3 core IC and A/C too. I had a fancy Koyo but I sold it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, ya know?

So its either 133 for one from Radiator barn, or 165 for a CXracing. What do you think I should do? |

I like my radiator barn radiator. It's a lifetime warranty radiator too. Mine came quick, packaged well, fits perfect, better than OEM quality IMO, and has worked flawlessly for 2 1/2 years. I'd recommend it.
What happened to your old radiator? Can't just put it back in? I have very limited space in my garage, and I junked it after all my initial problems with the second radiator went away. The lifetime warranty is a very big PLUS considering how much luck I have with this crap. I think I will pickup one of these if I cant think of something else. Mind posting some pictures of it? What about the egg trick? Think I can try that for the time being? |
Is the leak bad enough that you can't just drive it and fill it up daily.
I say order the barn radiator, its a nice piece. Order it now and you might have it by wednesday. |

Looks identical to the stock one.
Those are plastic end tanks? |
It was basically an exact match of the OEM radiator I removed when I replaced it. This on is a bit thicker on the brackets where the fans mount though. The tanks are plastic, but they're thicker than the old radiators tanks.

Paul always uses eggs to fix his radiators. Works good for him.

I got a radiator from radiator barn for my NA. It was all metal and was a very nice piece. Too bad I got in an accident not long after and trashed it.

I have the Koyo. Have had it for 5 years or so. It was a direct fit, but I found it to be just a tad tight. Other than that, it is all aluminum and I would buy it again if ever needed another new one.

koyo 55mm, i actually drilled a hole into it while mounting my intercooler. JB welded it up and its been fine since.
got it for 300 bucks. |
I've actually been pretty happy with my Godspeed as well. It was a pain in the ass to install, but it's held up pretty good since then. If you don't mind having a radiator made out of Chinesium.

my coolradiator.com piece is huge and more than adequate for the street.
