Need Thread Size

While putting in LSD and axles, found that one of the axles had been pounded a little much and expanded the threads, making the axle nut too tight.

I need the thread size so that I can go out to try to buy a metric die to cut the threads down to where they belong.

Anybody?:sadwavey:

IIRC the different axels from different years had different nuts... I believe the 1.8's were bigger....

You might want to check with the dealer.... just to be safe... maybe Randy's site will have the info? www.solomiata.com

I seem to remember when one of the 1.8 swaps done around here, the guys had to get new castle nuts....

Dave,

You are supposed to use new nuts. One of the 1.8's is fine(spins right on), the other is too tight.

bruce you could get another axle nut and cut notches out of it to make it like a die, if it works it will probably be cheaper too

I have one of the old ones, I'll try that if nothing else surfaces.

A friend had a die, and the size is 20mm x 1.5

I used a Honda d-series axle nut on mine just the other night... during the swap we realized the axle size was different and only one axle came with a nut....

32mm honda D-series axle nut saved the day... thank goodness my buddies and I hoard our nuts/bolts :p

Its funny how sizes can be so common... so randomly
