new exhaust pics.....
the pics aren't the best, but they're what I've got right now....
Drivers exit 2.5" pipe. with borla tip..... no muffler... FM 2.5" resonated midpipe, and 2.5" downpipe http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...4_107_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...4_110_full.jpg |
that exactly what i want to do.

wow your car is high, i am assuming its for the snow.
anyways, the slanted exhaust is not my cup of tea, but can you get a soundfile on here so we can hear it boioioioioioioinnngggg |
i can't tell if you didn't see the jack, or if you're joking, or if you're just stupid. LMK which it is
|
hahaha whoops didnt see that jack there
|
not my style but I hope it helps. I remember the difference it made :)
|
yeah, stock wheels on for winter, and car was on a jack so I could calibrate my wideband.....
I'll try and get a sound file up tomorrow.... It gets tuned at 1pm.... so I'll try and get a camera in there for the last few runs of the session.... i'll make sure to post scans of the printout also.... |
The drivers exit is cool, but it's crooked as shit. Looks like you got rear ended and bent the tip 45 degress.
I might try something similar but with a subtle turn town hidden behind the bumper. |
yeah, The pipe itself isn't actually crooked..... it just follows straight out of the termination of the FM midpipe to minimize bends.... Form over function I guess.... I was tired of the "standard" thing that seems to get done over and over....

I like your car. |
What seat do you have and is it mounted on the floor or on rails? Just asking because i'm looking at seats for the '99.
|
corbeau forza, and mounted to corbeau rails..... touches the door a bit... but no biggie... I would however reccomend a different seat, as mine has ripped along the "wear patch" ( the leather portion on the bolster ) on the drivers side where I enter the car... The bolsters are so high that it is nearly impossible to enter the car without rubbing across this portion, and it has therefore rubbed away and separated.... I love the seat otherwise... but this makes it look like crap. I also sit a bit higher than stock with the seat pad in, but it is easily removed and I then sit as low, or lower than stock.....
and the car looks completely different without the stock wheels.... they're sooo "girly" to me.... I'm debating selling my 17's and going to 15x8's.... but I'm still not sure what I'll be doing..... I'm up mad late stressing about my tuning appointment tomorrow..... 1pm I find out how good my setup actually is.... it's like I'm being graded on a final project or something.... I'm freaking out.... can't sleep, smoked like 2 packs of cigs since 5pm..... I'm a mess....lol |
I looked at the Corbeau's but I wasn't getting good reviews for them lasting long for daily use. I really like the Corbeau FX-1 Pro, think that's what it was, it's narrow with good support. I think i'm gonna get a sparco speed and mount it on the floor without rails. They look good and are relatively cheap as well. What wheels are you talking about, not the ones in these pictures are you? I have the Konig Imagine 17's and like them even though they're heavy.
Good luck with the tuning session. |

I think I'm going to get a turn down for mine, so I can bolt the muffler on/off for long drives |
The OEM wheels look better. The 17" are too large in my opinion and look like wagon wheels.
|
I don't think they're too big, I'm just not a fan of the style. There are some Konig Heliums in the classifieds with some Falkens for $500 I think.

I dont think I would ever go any bigger then 15's on a miata. Maybe, just maybe if I got an awesome deal on some Works or Gram Lights, I'd go 16's but it would have to be a pretty sweet deal.
|
The ones I posted are the 15 x 8's that Emilio is selling. 6UL's:

yeah the 949s! If i wasnt so cheap I'd rock them. My '99s will have to suffice, if I ever end up getting them from Tom.

I'm probably going to just dump the exhaust under the center of the car, before the rear end...pointed down.

I went straight out the back with a 3" exhaust. There's enough room for a 13"L muff between the subframe and chassis rear. Flanged just past the diff for tail pipe swapping. Have straight pipe on in photo- turbo style muff on it now. Figured I'd try it since the bumper was damaged (scraped) from being rear ended. The heat plate was a mock-up, but will get some 18ga. stainless cut.

I know, just saying they're available. I'm close enough to pick them up with $25 in gas so that's $125 saved in my case. Though i'll not be buying them. I like my wheels.
