hmm that would be a cool little swap... I would rather have the 300zx TT motor... I believe it is the VQ30TT

BTW I love the sound of the new nissian motors

would make alot of power, and sound awesome, but space may be a issue. Whats the weight of those engines?

If it was easily possible that would be one of the first motors that I would consider for a swap. I love those sixes. That or an M3 engine.

But hey, if you can cram in a mustang 5.0...

not sure if an inline 6 would ever fit though, but it would be sweet to drop in a stroked Jeep I-6 if it was possible.

RB26 has been done, only once that I've seen. IIRC the 302 only fits because of its narrow angle relative to the 4.6.

It would be very front heavy, I also have doubts that the motor would fit.

The 302 and 4.6 are both 90-degree V8s...the reason the 4.6 doesn't fit is because it's got two ginormous OHC lumps on top of each block. Too tall and wide.

It could be made to fit.

Thats been proving wrong, look at the weight of all the V8, it doesn't throw the weight off by much and using the alum heads on the ford help even more.

BTW about the Inline 6 motors its been done, a few times

RB26-done once,replaced with an RB25(not sure why)
RB20/25- done a few times, there is a post on CR with photos of one install
1jz- started never seem to finish(m.net)

V8 swaps
302- done million times
LS1- looks like it could replace the 302 for monster miata
lexus V8- seems be drawing some attention

V6 swaps
KL-VE swap- done once and not sure what going on with that..

That is all the big motor swaps I can think of.

that z motor has nothing on the '07 motors, they are truly kick ***. (and that almost costs more than the car)

the vq35de would be better than the vg30dett. those 300zx engines are huge and hard to work on in their big engine bays let alone a miata's. personnally i would go for the sr20det from the silvia.
oh and those nissan engines do sound BA.

If I ever have to replace my engine, I'll probably try to do this, especially now that I know some people that can do really good custom fab. n/a 300hp sound soo good. But I'm broke and my current engine is still not done yet
