New Miata Owner 90 NA

hello

just purchased a 1990 originally red na miata with 189k its now 8 yr old teal, that im about to sand off. so its 21 yrs old i had it up on a lift and from what i can see im in for a new right rear axle seal, oil pan gasket, front seal, tie rod ends, lower ball joints, upper control arms ( or can you just tack a new ball joint into the oem arm after u remove old ball joint? ). im missing a bolt that hold the tranny mount it seems. when i look at new mounts its threaded studs on either side...

now i was thinking greddy turbo kit, new grade 8 bolts, stand alone, upgraded fmi, injectors, would this be worth the investment? everyone says bell engineering but all i see is starter kits for there system which doesnt come with much for 1700$$

ive also been pondering vq35de swap, i already have the motor, i need a 350z six speed $400, 300zx rear end? $300 custom driveshaft $? harness with security features removed $500 or do urself.., some custom fab , would i or should i use the 350z rack pinnion? well got to run to work!

If you don't need the turbo kit right away, you could piece together a very nice kit for that $1700 that the begi intro will cost you. I bet you could use the classifieds here, ebay, and CL and have a sweet setup within 6 months.

Post your location in your profile and your car details in your signature. It will make your time on this forum easier and more productive.

fun, fun, fun! You may as well not replace the rear axle seal because as most people have found out the rear end is pretty close to glass compared to the 1.8 rear diff. Just put the money towards the 1.8 diff or wait till you swap in the 300zx rear end. Anyways have fun with it!-- pops

How is the current motor? with 189K I would think you'd want to rebuild that before boosting. I am in similar boat with 137K on a 90. Maybe someone else can chime in on longevity of boosted motor with 189k on the clock.

Compression test and leak will tell him if it's safe to run 225whp or so through the engine. I'd do it.
