Default Moderators FTW!

So why did my last post get changed to something derogatory, and why was this thread locked?
https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t33457/

Points:
- I do not know if someone got upset with my post, but my comment, on Paul's comment, was complimentary. The implication of his OP IMO was that he is getting lots of power out of a stock motor with no problems while the rest of us keep blowing them up. I was merely reinforcing that point in a mt.n manner. In other words, what is Paul doing right at 300 rwhp that the rest of us are not at lower power levels?
- Stein should be allowed to continue to post up on what happened so we can look for reasons why his motor blew. This is particularly relevant since he is one of the many (including me) that just switched to an Adaptronic ECU.

Explain please. Thanks

it was an april fools joke. my alternative ending was better.

UPDATE:

I couldn't handle it any more and went home from work to check on it. Opened the door to the shop and couldn't see the trail of oil that was there yesterday. Looked under the car--no oil. After scratching my head I jumped in the car and fired it up. Runs perfect. Now I am totally confused. I couldn't figure out what happened. Then it dawned on me. It's no longer 4/1/09.

BTW, the rod cap IS a 99 Miata rod cap and it IS off my 99 - but it is the black 99 that is sitting outside waiting for me to put the spare motor in. I foudn the cap in the console when I bought the car so it wasn't TOTALLY a fib!

I hope y'all got a bit of a laugh out of it. To those that saw this thread today, I apologize as I couldn't start it until 10:00 last night until I could get the pic taken but at least the thread was STARTED on 4/1/09.

Ya'll scared the **** out of me, I'm planning on running exactly 8psi, and that was not the cool.

Plus I felt really bad for Stein.

You guys were a bunch of jokers yesterday, I didn't think I'd see that much for April 1st.

My water pump did start leaking through the seep hole yesterday though, no joke. I hate the fact I finally got EVERYTHING ready to bolt the turbo on, and now I'm going to do a TB/WP job.

Sorry all. Hope you all took it as good fun. I had been thinking about that rod cap and an April Fool's joke for a couple of months.

Not so sure of that Eric. I think he posted and then got some communication from Stein and from then on was in on the joke

Vlad; both you and Stein should expect some future retaliation

Actually, he guessed it right away as he knows of my epic tuning skillz and knew that it couldn't be true.I did PM him after he posted and asked him to keep quiet. I figured the joke was over when he said he had more pics and there was no way that I could produce them and I would be caught red handed.

You joke about it but what I thought was that there had to be something wrong with the Adaptronic. That was what scared me the most. I could see myself using the AEM for a very long time.

I'm glad nothing was wrong and since you already mentioned it; how much for the other 99 head?

You're a damn *****. >:/ Here I am sitting at like 12-13psi on a stock 99 motor and you go and "grenade" one at 8psi with no detonation. I was flipping my **** over here.

Yeah you are Karma-fucked for sure now. I need to talk to Travis about your next 'firmware update'. I am thinking something that randomly advances timing about 30 degrees when at WOT and above 7 psi, and shuts off the knock sensor. That should do the trick
