Really expensive. Really cool.

Really unnecessary.

But still cool.

RotorNutFD3S 02-27-2009 06:36 PM

Where have you been? Those have been out for a while. :)

Ben 02-27-2009 06:43 PM

I've been out of the loop on most things for the past few months. No internet at work FTL.

I'm getting an office next week though.

That's pretty cool. It's not any more expensive than a Defi setup.

PLX

Gauge - $209
Boost/Vac Sensor - 99
Water Temp - 89
Oil Temp - 89
Oil Pressure - 129

Total - $515 for essentially 5 gauges

I think I had that much in a defi control module, boost gauge, and water temp gauge in my last 300zx with an extra gauge that had to be mounted and monitored 2 fewer parameters.

Bad ass, do want!

Neato. Good for those who want a lot of info and don't have space for or want many gauges.

Thats kinda what I was thinking, less clutter but wonder how life would be like eading 5 pieces of info on a 2" screen.

Whatever dude. You try reading your gauge without the 'bling' wallpaper and flame animations.

UrbanSoot 02-28-2009 09:22 PM

since my "old" (but brand new) plx was stolen, i ordered new one from ebay for $188 shipped. they are way cool. one gauge for EVERYTHING!

Super cool, but I've had to send my DM-100 back twice for repairs. It's still not working 100%. It has a tendancy to freeze randomly, forcing me to restart my car to get it to reset.

Mine does that too. :crx:

Haven't installed it yet. I just got my DM-100 back a couple of weeks ago. The first time I sent it in, the turnaround time was really fast. This time, it took 6 weeks to get it back. I was going to install the boost module this weekend, but with the DM-100 acting like a douche, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. It's bad enough having just your AF readings randomly going black on you.

That's good, I know it's not just me. That's bad, they haven't figured out how to fix that glitch.

Does yours freeze if you go over bumps? I thought I had a loose connection at first, but the random freezing can happen while cruising down a mirror smooth freeway.

I reinstalled my PLX-300 into the third O2 sensor bung I had installed on my DP. That thing is a tank and would work through nuclear armageddon.

NA6C-Guy 03-01-2009 06:11 PM

I guess needles and gauge faces just dont work anymore, and arent cool enough. Im going to replace my speedometer with a sun dial and a complex set of equations to figure out my speed, then remove my tach and install a full time timing light and a wheel geared to the crankshaft to check my engine speed. If they arent cool enough I will put some cool decals on them, or set them on fire.

Haven't noticed on bumps before. Mainly does it while cruising at one constant speed for a while like you stated. Usually I will just drive the car normal, and it will finally decide that it wants to work again after a couple minutes.

I had an M-300 wideband for several years, but switched to a UEGO last year when the o2 sensor died. I like their new kiwi wifi obd2 system for iphone/ipod touch.
