No power and then it dies.

I was driving and I was not in boost. The car started to decelerate even if I mashed the throttle. Then it died. It will crank and it will run as long as I modulate the throttle, but it runs super rough and eventually stalls.

Fuel pressure looks good based on the fuel pressure gauge I have in line. It checks out around 40 when I try to start the car.

I checked the coils and they both banks checked out with 10.55 ohms. That is within spec.

The question is this. Does anyone know the resistance numbers for the NGK plug wires? I found something that hinted towards 8k ohms. If it is, then my wires are toast.

Can anyone confirm this?

Check your charge pipes; I had similar conditions after blowing a coupler off. Might not apply if you have deleted AFM

Yep fuel pump is not workings cause the afm sees no vac. This would be the case if you arent on running the mspnp with the maf delete. Also a clogged cat has been known to do this as well. Unbolting the cat is a easy thing to try after you look at all your couplers and maybe even jumper the pump on to elimenate the fp control relay as a culprit.

+1

Sounds like a coupler came loose. I've had it happen too many times. I would know right away when it happened, then have to baby it until I was able to pull over somewhere to fix it.

All the couplers are intact and tight, and I have the MAF delete kit on the car. I have been running that ever since I installed the MS. I haven't made any changes to the MSQ in over a week. So, it is nothing that I changed in the system. I checked all the vacuum lines, and all is well.

But....

Now, I cant get it to start for any amount of time whatsoever. I can smell the raw fuel, so I know it is getting fuel. I will go to the stealership and get some new wires tomorrow. I guess, it wouldnt hurt to replace them anyway. If that doesn't do it then I will pull the cat and put my delete pipe on.

Ok, a little update. The car started, but idled pig rich at 10. It immediately died when I blipped the throttle, and I cannot get it to restart.

I did the old screw driver in the insulator test, and I found something that I don't ever recall seeing before. Cyl 2 and 4 fire when I just turn the key to ign. I hear a little pop, and then there is a visible arc. I don't have to try and crank for it to happen. Could that be a short somewhere, or is it a sign of a bad coil pack?

Sorry to bring this back up, but what was resolved the problem with this?

No Problem.

It was a failed MAP sensor on my MSPNP. It was reading 0 when the ignition was on. It should have read atmospheric, 100-101. It was replaced by DIY under warranty, and I was up and running in a couple of days. I haven't had a single problem since.
